The Impreza is a pretty safe car, you tell them that the second they get a ticket you will take the keys away, sell the car, and replace it with an 88 buick.

Kids shouldn't drive fast cars, as Hulk Hogan's son.

Have you looked into the 2001 Mediocrity sedan yet? Just saying.

Go buy an STI. I can afford the higher insurance rates. But Evos are faster, cooler, handle better and will get you laid more often.

There, confused yet? Now go slap your parents for not loving you enough to say no, and go buy whatever car you want that you an afford.

IBTL, this thread is pure troll country...

Why does it need to be a STi, buy a WRX for cheaper. Like a bugeye or blobeye, then build it up. More unique, less on insurance, more fun. Subaru>Mitsubishi IMO

Depends on your skill level. My friend taught me with his evo ix and i had an ae86 when i first started driving. I say if ur parents buy it... U wont respect or appreciate the car as much. Invest some time and money to get the car u want... Itll live long and be the women u want it to be. But truthfully... Ur parents will buy it and you would possibly listen to ur 18 yr old friends and add janky parts. Post some pics for us later so i can get an amen and lmao

Hey same here I just got my DL and I got a 2011 sti sedan... No question ask simply the best car for that price range....!!
Although I do like the Japanese spec
(recaro seat. Rear windshield wiper. Head light washer. Rear fog light. And much better nav system) compare to my Canadian sport tech the japanese/euro model are much better!

Lol I'm 19 and i pay for my STI all alone

OP is clearly too juvenile to decide for himself. I wouldn't ask the community here. Ask your parents. They're the ones paying

Which one has the option for a governor? I am not going to hate on you because I would have taken the car at your age. But much like kids listening to their parents your not going to listen to us. Start out with a car that you can learn and make mistakes on. You can still get an sti, why does it have to be new one? Also, why would you get on Nasioc and ask if a Mitsubishi is better.

if you hate the idea of putting money time and sweat (sometimes blood... alot of times blood) then ditch the idea of getting an evo or subaru, you are 18 get something insurance will be cheap with

My very first car was a 96 crown victoria and i had more fun with that car then probably anything so far (granted i've only had my subie for about two weeks now.....)
i've own a 89 protege, 1993 hatch, and a 1993 coupe. thosse are other great beginner cars cause theyll teach you everything about sporty driving on a budget and maintenance. "the real tree shade mechanic"

as far as reasons to get an Sti? cheaper parts, better engine design, proven company... (mistu has that one off cousin.. ohh what was the name..?? DSM? >_< ew..)
its also one of the cars that ... well.. you know. this forum revolves around.

Let me shoot straight with you, you are asking us why you should buy an sti over evo, if its about performance, you can tune anything.. I MEAN ANYTHING,
if you are talking about all around practicality and cost of ownership then sti, want looks? then evo, best bang per buck? get the wrx and start putting sti parts on it

For obvious reasons.

The fact that you are asking on nasioc what car you should buy tells me you are not mature enough to own a car like that. I'm not going to bash you for being fortunate enough to be able to get a nice brand new car when you're 18, no matter who is buying it for you. My first car was an integra that I bought when I was 16, I drove the **** out of it for 3 years, bought an RS and eventually traded it in on my W. I've had it for 3 years now. I'm 22, and when it's paid off and I feel I'm mature enough to handle a high horsepower car, I will uprgrade to an evo x, or 07 STi. Just like when I can actually ride a bike, I'll upgrade that too.

Consider the fact that what you want, may not be what is best. Trust me, my ****ty integra was fast enough for me to have fun with when I was younger, and I probably would have killed myself if I had twice the horsepower.

It's your choice ultimately. When I was 16 I bought my first civic then came an integra, civic, finally i realized i wasn't getting anywhere and bought my 05 wrx. Ive only had it for a year and running stage 2 currently(wants moar). Guess what I'm only 19. If I had to choose between the two I'd say get an sti(boxer rumble,6spd,unique hoodscoop, huge ass wing lol). Hope it helps and goodluck with whatever car you purchase.

What a waste of time!! Kid goes out and gets a BMW after asking about an STI or EVO! Well thats a decent first choice. Learn to drive that and you can drive anything...

I think that was a great pick for a first car! I know I am jealous. If I could afford a new 335i manual coupe I may have bought that over my STI

Quite a biased population to ask this question to, I am here because I prefer the STI. I think there is no clear winner so you can't really go wrong.

where do you pump gas? i will quit my job right now and go work there. when i was a kid, ****ty jobs didn't pay enough for a $35-40K car.. only an old S-10 or anything else that was paid for in cash for a couple grand.

Where is this "pumping gas" place? Who has full service anymore? Please inform us....

Plus...the 328xi is AWD isn't it....that's a nice car...although with BMW, I'd prefer a 330 or M3. OR Audi S4/TT coupe.... but overall, I'd take the 2011 WRX over all of them based on reliability and resale value. Subaru is Number 1 now over toyota on KBB.

I'm dricing the 2007 2.5i now and the thing has never broken down on and it even lets you know when the battery is dying....slow starts...dimmer lights....not just dead.

The first light went on me at 58000 on the dot...LOL I just replaced and did it myself and I suck at working on cars.
