He has the STI exhaust. This will only be a temporary while I find something that is not as loud as my current one since I have to use my car a my dd this summer and stay on the DL as most as possible.

You could always look into SPT/Cobb/Perin/Boral.... they are nice and 3" but the Boral has a very quiet one!

I have a Borla Hush on my car and LOVE it. Headers back on my car and the Hush makes for a very nice mellow tone. If you get on it though, it screams! Highly recommended!

As much as you'd want to Shaun, you would have to trade the whole turboback.

My Kartboy short shifter is here finally! Still gotta pick out a shift knob.

I've gotta run up to AMS tomorrow to ask about a part I'm interested in and then will hopefully have enough time to put this in. I also want to do some recon while I'm under the car for a potential aluminum driveshaft. I've already read about rubbing on the KB bushings and clearance issues underneath the car but want to lay eyes on everything before I make a final decision.

Cobb Knob FTW!

I thought about the Aluminum driveshaft myself. I need a new driveshaft here soon but I just can not bring myself to make clearance with a sledge hammer. I am going to get a rebuilt stock unit that has replaceable U-Joints in it instead. Subaru needs a good slap in the face for making these driveshafts Non-Serviceable!

So seaking of shifters any one know how to get a shift nob off when the insert is stripped out of the knob and all the knob does is spin and does not unscrew

I like the way the Cobb knob looks and I've been looking at getting a delrin/co-polymer knob. I like my Kartboy knob right now, but the heat and the cold definitely aren't nice with it.

It sounds ****ty but I'm ready to bang the car up underneath if/when needed. I'm probably picking up a new set of front rotors/calipers tomorrow. If anyone is looking to buy Brembos I always give locals first dibs

*EDIT* FYI, they'll be off a '05 STi

Have you considered taking it off and painting it with a textured paint? It would help it from feeling too hot/cold.

Not sure yet, I haven't check fair market value for them yet. For a heads up, I usually sell for a little less than what people buy them for just to get rid of them. I don't like having extra parts laying around. Check some of my fs threads. I've let some good stuff go for really decent prices.

I'm really hoping that by reducing some rotating mass weight I can speed this car up. The new rotors/calipers will let me use most 17" wheels and some 16". Even more weight dropped. I think a lot of people underestimate the WRX because they go about trying to making them faster the wrong way. They only issue I'm starting to have with drag racing my car is the torque. The 2.5 is great for daily driving but you have to play with it to get good launches. It will spin the hell out of first gear. Tires help more than most people realize too. /tangent

No I haven't thought about that. I would tend to worry that it might chip off or just come off on my hands.

Truth. It does get a lot of use and might wear off. Polycarbonate paints are fairly durable and are resistant to wear, chipping, high temps and vibrations.

Drunk here too. Black russians ftw! I'm officially on vacation as of 10 pm local time.

Anyone off tomorrow that wants to go up to AMS in the morning?
