Default what to do with it? 06sti block/vf40

Hello Everyone,
I saw a deal for a 2006 sti block with spun bearing (approx100-120k kms/75k miles) and a VF40 turbo for less than $500.

this is the latest message from the seller:
I haven't taken the block Apart but it had spun a bearing. I bought it from a guy last year planning on rebuilding it but plans have Changed. And also about the block the crank turns and the guy I bought it from said he heard a knocking sound shut the car off towed it to Subaru and they started it once and said he had spun a bearing so he sold it to me. Pretty sure he said it had like 100-120 k's

My question isshould I buy this block and build it to my taste and replace the vf40 with a 16g compressor, or should not bother at all???
I read the vf40 turbos are not reliable and failed many times. but what I do know, they perform similar to stock 06 wrx turbo, the td04. I would like to remain under 310lbs torque to preserve my transmission.
Now again, My 06 wrx runs well and strong at 116k miles. doesn't burn any oil. but would be nice to have a built block to match with a STi 6spd in the future. what are your thoughts?

Wait 500 for the turbo and the engine? Even as a core thats a killer deal, around here rebuildable cores in the junk yard for Ej255/257 seem to be about 800 and running engines well over a grand.

Just have everything checked real well when you build it up!

Ive never looked in a ej b4 lol. please educate what I should check for? done some research and looks like it has to be the crank bearing or rod bearing that has given out.and so, few metal pieces break off and spread around the pistons. from looks of this block, it looks clean and free of damage.

The vf40 out of a legacy gt does not fit for your 06 wrx but you could sell it and get some of your money back from the purchase of the block.
Plan on a new crank or a crank grind and oversized bearings and at least one new rod. Also budget for a bore/hone 99.75, measure first but the mileage is high, chances are its out of spec and will need the machine work.
I could be wrong on all counts but it would be wise to budget for the worst case scenario before you commit to a used block purchase.
