my tranny has a mind of its own...no 1st gear
well today after i was heading home, turning left onto 495/95 from suitland rd. just outside of andrews afb and 1st gear takes a big ole steamy 5hit on me....so i suppose my tranny decided it was time for a tranny upgrade. the bad part is i never treat 1st gear bad at all, i never launch my car or even get on it in first gear, i pretty much baby first gear in hopes of making the tranny last til i could afford to upgrade. but anyway whats done is done now i gotta find a great deal on a new tranny setup...
life sucks tonight...

i havent gotten my car dynoed but i got quite a bit done...
anyway your setup would be great but im not buying a stock tranny. im either gonna get a full sti 6spd setup or go with ppg 1-4... yea im sure his driving had some to do with it... its been rebuilt before by the previous owner but that was to stock spec. |

good luck. Ask them about the mfactory gears. They're being sold right now for around 2300 for the gears themselves, but then you still need installation.

I can't justify spending over 1/2 the value of the car on a transmission. It looks like it only improves resale in a marginal way. I'm watching the Mfactory gears too.

There are other lower cost alternatives too if you're on a budget.

i think it's telling you that it wants to go to andrewtech
let edwin massage it a lil bit also, the new RA gears go through some new treatment and are supposedly stronger. but i'd ask the guys at andrewtech about that. |

*begins research on RA gears*
honestly i think thats going to be my budget right now. kinda sucks cause i always told myself that if i had to build a tranny i would get one that was worth a damn. but anyway whatever i go with i just hope they are good in auto-x, i plan on focusing on learning how to auto-X my car before i go further with go fast goodies... i had big hopes for my car til this tranny business happened. oh well isht happens. ill call andrewtech on monday about RA gears installed. thanx for all your help guys. |
