Is my diferential damage for ever or I have a second chance???
My question is one time like 4 month / 3000 miles ago I was on a gravel terrain and It was perfect to do some slides and some lauches with my wrx. At that time I did not remember the fact of the hand break and awd. So I pull the e brake probably 4 times maybe close to 15 mile per hour for like 2 second each time to slide my car. Now after some reading about the same thing I remember my error couple month ago and I’m wonder if I caused any problem to my center diferential. My car has NO STRANGE SOUNDS OR VIBRATIONS while running no complain at all. I’m just concern of my diferential status because, beside that I take a really good care of my car.
Could be my diferential damaga because of those actions??? Or maybe I have a second chance!!!??? Thanks for your help guys redwrx

You should be fine. The damage noted in discussions is from prolonged use over a period of time. Eventually the center diff will wear out....but certainly not from what you're describing.

you're probably o.k.! you were in gravel, which helped. if you did it on pavement you'd have a better chance of screwing it up! gravel is fun, i do it whenever possible! i wish i was a rally driver, damn!
