Apparently the 6MT will only be an option for the I6. I wonder if the 6MT will ever trickle down to the 4-banger? Probably not since it'd take away from GR86 sales.

I seriously doubt we will be seeing any new Supras for awhile since BMW sources a number of critical parts (like wiring harnesses) from Ukraine and has shutdown several of their factories including their partner, Magna Steyr who makes the Supra in Austria. Between Covid and now the war things will only get worse before they get better for certain brands and models.

They could move supply chain which will likely add additional cost which will push pricing up. That said, and hopefully it doesnít derail the **** out of this thread, but I sure as **** am not even considering a 2nd car / fun car given current political and economic climate. Hell, Iím half debating selling my truck for an old used Prius and a cheap older 4wd truck like an S10 or something.

I feel like something is going to break and it wonít be good if / when it happens.

I have no idea how hard it is to source the parts they need outside the Ukraine but Iím sure BMW is scrambling. This affects almost al their vehicles built in Europe including the new M3/M4 their new EVís, etc. I think EV owners are going to be lucky to get a car before 2023.

Hereís another wrench to throw in, the vast majority of nickel use in vehicles comes fromÖ Russia. So everything from catalytic converters to components in EV have a real potential to become scarce, very expensive, or both. The widespread implications of Russia / Ukraine can stretch far and deep in terms of resources use in a ton of common components.

20k miles a year at 20mpg equals 1000 gallons. At dollar a gallon increase. Thousands bucks, not worth switching. Pay a lot more getting over priced used car esp. Prius. Even at three dollars more a gallon it's not worth paying double what a used car is. Drive less, cut budget elsewhere. Obviously, different scenarios come to play and yours could be one. Not you but most people do not know how to calculate their owns cars mpg. Not to mention one big problem with a used car purchases really throws savings out the window. Tires will be more, heating oil up. All food with wheat will double if its available. So on and so forth. Oil will hit demand destruction very fast. They are already downgrading energy stock as I write this. ConocoPhillips was buy status 24 hours ago. Advice do nothing as far as buying because of oil.

I forgot to mention
With trucks and V8 cars. People where selling/trading taking the profit off their cars upgrading to newer models or fuel efficient models. That party is ending too. Last thing people are buying is costly truck with high operating costs unless truck is needed for it was designed for and using business write off on taxes plus operating costs etc.

I love my current ride (Ford Ranger 4.0L). Not the most economical gas vehicle but its paid for! I plan on keeping the thing and if the motor breaks, convert it to EV. Its a long bed and there is so much open space for battery packs.

I just wish we bought My wife a new van before this crap went nova.

Back on track. I really interested in seeing what they do with the supra

I was told at least a year...and a 5K markup over MSRP. Hard pass.
