For those that don't know, HS (H-Stock) is the class in SCCA Auto-x where the last stock class full mostly of Mini (Non-S), Celica, Mazda Protege, etc.... underpowered cars. James' "L" is just that.... stock, 110ish HP L.
That's either ridiculous luck (but all day?) or ridiculous skill... Double up - it was his first run of the day! It should be easy to see why this is hard to believe. I'd like to see a stock class L trounce the lineup of turbo'd Imprezas in town!

Some tight courses are better for torqy NA impreza, not to mention L has a shorter gear ratios so these results dont mean ****

I see this all the time when or tight courses turbo cars are not doing all that well

Lame. An HS beating a AS car is about the driver.

You do realize that HS is the lowest PAX. A whole 5% lower than AS. .792 vs .842. So 'theoretically' on that 65 second course the AS should have been about 3.2 seconds faster, not 1.2 seconds slower, with equal drivers.

For those interested PAX results

James' HS = 50.42
Ken's AS = 54.62

AHHH what a relief!!!...no music, pure mechanical fury, absolute rawness....that's the way car videos need to be made! I haven't enjoyed a car vid in a long time. Cheers to Block. Reminds me of "climb dance."

True gymkhana or not, Ken is doing us all a favor by making a video like that.

This vid got over 100K views in 24 hrs and that is not counting ones on youtube.

Every car message board I'm on has it and when I try to show it to my friends in Europe they already seen it.

You are here for a reason too. This is a best VID in a long time.

So yes, I am Ken's fan. And this video is KICK ASS.
I'd rather be a fanboi than whine about stupid sht
Ohh, its not really Gymkhana. It wasn't one take. I can beat him in my Mini, my penis is crooked...

Recognize this video for what it is. Anyone would give A LOT for 15 mins in that car at that track.
If you dont feel that way go put more neon lights on you car.

Why cant people just say. "This is awesome" Why cant you just like the vid for what it is.

Simple as that

Because you are blubbering fanboi and it is funny to poke at your useless arguments, and how you try to make fun of people's manhood because they don't like a video of fake drifting

Maybe not EVERYONE likes the same exact things as you do. Maybe other people actually go out and do their own thing instead of posting "oh my god I splooges, he's a god" on message boards

I've been entertained, and thats why I'm here.

I also saw the Tina Fey as Sarah Palin skit on every car message board

While it was good, I wouldn't go as far as the best VID in a long time. I'd argue that any vid of the last 4 laps of the Brazillian grand prix was way better.

That it's not really Gymkhana, that it wans't one take (when compared to real gymkhana, and that he was beat by and HS Impreza are all valid points. The whole penis thing is an issue you should bring up with your primary care provider. NASIOC isn't the smartest place to ask for medical advice.

I didn't see any track in the video. Hoppe could put more neon lights on his racecar but I'm not sure they are allowed under the IT rules. Well maybe if they are on the CAI

It was cool but the reason many people are criticizing it are the reasons that have been covered. It's much closer to drifting than gymkhana and while it's some great driving, it loses some if it's luster when you see that some of those shots were done many many times.

It looks like the same place that the BFGoodrich tire commercial with the Charger drifting was filmed. He is using BFGoodrich tires too. Maybe it is the same hanger, hence all the black marks?

Tom

So are you saying I sit all day in front of the computer and actually DON'T "go out and do my own thing"

How do you know if I've done any driving?

Inside the hangar, I agree. Those probably are a mix from the Dodge commercial and some of his (if any were his at all in there from any donuts he may have done but were left on the cutting room floor).

Elsewhere, like the 180 around the marker, in the box, etc... all him.

I got really excited when I saw this VID

and no I don't like the pissing matches on the threads but I just don't understand how can you not get excited when you watch a video like that. Regardless of what it is. Fake drifting, Fake Gymkhana - whatever.

Maybe I get a different feeling watching this vid than you do

Your profile says you drive an Integra so maybe you never had a chance to go all balls out with a powerful race prepped AWD car and you just don't understand the feeling it gives you.

Ohhhh dear.

And the excitement comment? Sure, it's a neat video. One that can be done by almost anyone that can turn a wheel in anger, with the budget/time/inclination to do so.

I don't know who pissed in everybody's cheerios, but I agree that the video was great to watch, and it did make me excited to drive my car again. I don't care if Block was doing backflips with wires and a net, it was still entertaining.

Cooley and KC.

Those are my ploney links you are using for PAX data.....

Ken was not on R Comps for those times. James was.
The 08 STI was flogged on OE CRAP Dunlops/alignment(ZERO camber) all morning too giving potential customers a ride, including me.
Well actually, Alex G. drove me.

This AS to HS comparo is not usable IMHO..... Sorry James.

Luv the vid. Especially his commitment/balls to drifting around the building.
Freeze frame his initial angle to the right of the building, you would never guess he was not going to run into the building from a freeze frame....
