Default Intermittent Remote Problems

My 13 Outback just started giving me a problem with the remote unlock. When the cars been sitting for an hour or more the remote doesn't work. Second using the key was setting off the alarm until I disabled it.

I assumed it was the battery since this started with the first single digit temperatures and replaced the battery and its still an issue.

Its probably a coincidence that the car was at Subaru 2 weeks ago for the airbag and parking brake recall.

Any idea what the problem could be?

If the trouble seems to happen when the car is cold then my best guess is there may be a bad wire connection somewhere. Perhaps the in the power to the keyless entry system.

Can you tell me where to find the keyless entry system?

Sure enough its 57 degrees right now and the remote works. I should also mention that I tried with another remote and that wouldn't work either so it isn't the remotes battery.
