Sure. On the new FA20 engines there are no extra oil passage ports on the top of the engine, for installing an oil pressure sender, like on the EJ engines. There is however one single port on the front of the engine that is used with an OEM pressure sender. So our adapter allows the use of two pressure senders (OEM and an aftermarket, for oil pressure gauge) into the single port.

The FA20 has a stock oil pressure sender? For what? I wish you could see the oil pressure on the triple meter, but it's not available.

Yes, it has an oil pressure light, just like the older EJs. Lets you know when the engine has blown

^ No problem!

If I remember correctly we used the black ThreeBond on the OEM sensor.

UPDATE...

Finally got around to installing our SMY Dual Gauge pod. For anyone considering adding additional gauges I highly recommend this product. OEM fit and finish and very functional.

And here is the little gem that makes it possible to retain the OEM oil pressure sensor and add an oil pressure gauge into the same port.

What's the other gauge you put in and what gauge manufacturer are you using?

The two gauges are Oil Temp and Oil Pressure. They are STRi Gauges. We've been using STRi gauges since ~2007 I believe, and use them in all of our shop cars. I like them because they match the OEM lighting very well and don't have a big logo on them. They also have settable warning lights and highest value recall. The accuracy is probably not as good as the higher end gauges, but if you need more accurate that that you should probably be running a calibrated mechanical gauge or dedicated datalogging.

Just an FYI for those that may be interested...

We installed a sump oil temperature gauge and compared it to the OEM oil temp gauge on the factory display. When the engine is cold and getting up to temperature, there is ~20 temperature lag. Likely due to the oil being cooled somewhat as it's draining back into the pan, before the engine, in its entirety, is fully and completely up to temperature. After ~15 minutes of additional driving the entire engine and oil temps reach thermal equilibrium, and read the same.

Wait KB...

Please clarify, where is the lag?

Is your aftermarket sump temp lagging with regards to the OEM temp? Or is the OEM temp lagging with regards to the aftermarket temp?

I always wait til 185F on the factory display, but your making me worried.

The sump lags OEM. For example if the OEM reads 200, what's in the sump (going into the engine) is 180.

At 185 you could go wither way. I wouldn't loose sleep over it.

Sorry for the dead thread resurrection, but I'm about to install an oil pressure gauge, and I'm curious if I need an adapter to install the OEM sender into the Killer B dual adapter? The male threads on the Killer B piece that go into the port on the engine are different than the dual female threads. So, it stands to reason the OEM sender unit will require an adapter, correct? The pics in this thread however, seem to show the OEM send mounted directly without an additional adapter. The sender for my gauge definitely requires an adapter, as it does not have tapered threads. Any clarification would be much appreciated!...SC

You do not need an adapter for the OEM sender. The dual female threads are 1/8 BSPT (sometimes stated as just PT) which is the same as in the block. I know this because I ran into an issue with a 1/8 NPT male end on a third party sender and had to buy an adapter to make that work.

^ Correct!

All treads on our Dual Adapter are 1/8PT. Formally called 1/8BSPT

Can be used on any FA engine and we've even had a few brave souls test them out on the EJ engines running an aftermarket sensor with the OEM dummy light.
