Default Blobeye vs Hawkeye look

Hello everyone, just bought my first Subie (2005 STi) with some front end damage, pretty much every front panel is damaged (hood, fenders, headlights, bumper). And i was thinking of doing a conversion to a hawkeye because i will need to replace all those parts right away but then went on different forums and realized that a lot of the guys on forums still like the Blobeye look better than Hawkeye, so what do you guys think is it worth doing a conversion or should i put the 05 front end back on? I know there a some threads about this, but they are talking about the other stuff like engines, trannys, suspension.

I just wanted to see what you guys like better Blobeye or Hawkeye? just the looks

Itís all personal preference, they all have their advantages depending on what youíre looking for. For me, lím Hawkeye>Bugeye>Blobeye, mostly because the blob reminds me too much of my old legacy and I like the split grillís uniqueness and the stock projector headlights. Just go with what makes you happiest

The only opinion that really matters here is yours. Which of the three do YOU like best? Which style is going to make YOU smile the most when you walk out to it to go somewhere?

FWIW, I never cared much for the hood-scoop intercooler inlet style that's on all three of those styles. The more restrained approach on the current WRX's IC air inlet is better integrated and far nicer-looking to me.

I presume you are asking this because you are concerned about the resale value?

If i were buying a GD STI, I would prefer to buy one that the owner didn't hack up the front radiator support just to slap the wrong year front end on it.

You do realize that its not just a matter of bolting up fenders and headlights right?

I think Subaru was channeling Alpha Romeo when they made the Hawkeye, not for everybody, but itís not bad. My problem with it is that the hood almost looks like an American car hood from certain angles and looks like a longer fascia, almost too long.

That is exactly what i was thinking about i know it wont be plug and play, and it will require body work, and i can do all of that with no problem, the only thing that Im more concerned of is will i be able to sell it at all, or people will think that its kinda "stupid hack move" or whatever

If itís done right itís not hacked. Originality is a different matter, keep it blob if you plan to sell it later and donít feel like having to explain why it has the wrong front end.

When they came out, Hawkeye over all others.

The older I (and they) get, the better the Bugeye's start to look.

But don't mind me. I'm now old enough to be attracted to the mom (as opposed to the hot daughter) in TV shows.

Hawkeye's are way over played (very similar to 08-14 GR chassis headlamps) and lacks the character of the Blogeye and Bugeye.

Not a fan of the old blobeye. But you have to sleep with her, it's all about what you like.

I bought a blobeye because I liked the way it looks more than the hawkeye. in fact, there is nothing I don't like about the body of a blob eye, but IMO the hawkeye's hood scoop looks too small.

Yeah, i also thought that most of the people out there love hawkeye but when i started researching, turns out that blobeye gets very similar amount of ''likes'' too

Just my opinion but I feel like white blobeyes are the nicest, every other color I seem to prefer the hawkeye.

Blobeye will always be my favorite with bugeye in a close second. Hawkeye is the ugliest in my opinion. They're uglier than the 2015+ WTX/STI, and I think those are ugly as hell (odd thing to think since I own one), so that's saying a lot.
