Default Tuning

So there's a few places here and there around the PNW for tuning. I have a 06 WRX that needs a tune. Lots of upgrades and new COBB fuel system enhancements that need added to the accesport. So I've heard of 3 main places that get good reviews looking over the forums. English Racing, FTW and Dom over at Tier One Imports. Any personal experiences with any of these shops?

Dom is arguably one of the most knowledgeable tuners.

English is more known for their DSM and Mitsubishi contributions, but they can certainly tune Subaru as well. I have no experience with them or know anyone personally there and also haven't heard any credible evidence not to go there.

FTW gets a lot of bad rap. This is a good example of what Dom talks about with tuners having customer standards. Great examples of bad customers. Andy would have been better not to have done business with a few customers. This shop is the most southern of the ones you mentioned.

Not mentioned, but also worth mentioning would be PRE and Surgeline.

Heard great things about Dom for many years but no personal experience.

Paul at Drive Auto Sports in Woodinville has a great reputation, and is my recommendation.

I was tuned by Chris at surgeline back when it was affiliated with Cobb and had a great experience. I had also been tuned by Andy at FTW back when he was still working out of a storage unit type garage and had a good experience with him back then as well. Just to comment on customer standards when I was getting tuned at Surgeline there was a customer who brought in a car that was not in any condition to get a pro tune and he made a big stink because they wouldn’t tune it and the GM told him to leave and not come back. Turned away an easy $500 and avoided what almost certainly would have been a customer trying to slam them over a “bad tune”

What about PIA in Parkland near Tacoma? All I ever here is good stuff about that place.

Have a co-worker that did a huge build and pro tune with Drive Auto Sports (closed deck block, big turbo, new fuel system, etc.) and he is happy with it.

I've done the Surgeline thing a few times but for any big or little issue I had, even if they are willing to rectify it then I contemplate is it worth the 4 hour drive each way.

I've heard gleaming reviews for PIA over many years, never been there myself.

Dom has a youtube channel and after watching a bunch of his videos I have to say I really like his style. Very knowledgeable and well tell you like it is.

I've gone to Drive Auto Sports. They're now in Everett.
