What class do you plan on running in?

Street tires vs. r-comps is a big decision, and two entirely different worlds. (just some food for thought)

I've got used 245/45/17 Azenis mounted on Gold BBS 5x114.3. Perfect for STU.

I've got six (6) Hoosier A6's: 275/40-17. Not sure what size you're looking for. They have a decent amount of wear, but are still pretty grippy (set FTD at a late season event on one set). Will let them go for cheap. $40/tire OBO, quantity up to you.

Damn 275 is pretty wide..the wheels I was hoping to put them on are 17x7.5s.

Ill be running EPS, mainly due to the existing mods on my car and I dont want to mod backwards.

^Do you mean ESP?

The 275's will fit on an 7.5" wheel. I know a guy who ran an '04 STi in A-Stock with these size tires. In Stock you are required to run factory sized wheels, so the '04 STi had to use 17x7.5 wheels. It can be done.

Ah yes, thats what I meant, ESP.

Did he have to run a spacer for strut clearance?

What year car do you have? 02/03 Bugeye IIRC.

Assuming the above, you'd have to run 16x6.5 if you were to stay in a stock class. (DS I believe) (The 17" BBS's were a "dealer-installed" option, and therefore are not considered "stock")

Otherwise, you would get bumped into ESP if you ran R-comps. In fact, if your running with NER SCCA, you won't have much to worry about other than the occasional Mustang. Although some people don't like this, as it gives them no competition.

But look on the bright side; if you attend every event of the season you could probably walk home as a class champion at the end of the year.

Yeah, 02 WRX.

Preferably, I'd be running ST*, but I started modding without looking at the rules and as it sits Im in SM, but can run ESP without much work.

Im running coilovers, big sway bars, Brembos, "Stage 2" Catless EWG

I'd say definitely go for ESP. Although like you said, I believe you will get bumped to SM, due to the EWG. (not 100% sure on this)

Do you plan on running with the SCCA? (Didn't mean to turn your WTB thread into a discussion, just trying to talk you into coming out with us!)

Yeah I plan on running SCCA:NER

I will not be utilizing the EWG at the Solo events. Ill be converting my car to IWG (Although I have to determine if the method I want to use will be legal). I want to leave the EWG bolted onto the uppipe, have the top port plumbed to a boost source to "clamp" it shut, have the side (actuator) port left open, and plumb the vacuum hoses for the IWG like stock.

I know they are probably too small but I have a set of brand new unmounted Dunlop Direzza Star Specs 215/45/17. Bought them for my car for this coming season but worked out a deal to co-drive someone's car with r-comps. I can't use them during the summer because my commute is over 100 miles a day.

I figure $100/each and I can drop them off. They list for ~$125 each typically.

In Stock you're allowed a +/- 1/4" offset change from stock, or 5mm. With that, there is space between the tire and strut housing. This was on stock struts or Ohlins though. If you're running coilovers you'd probably have a decent amount of room, depending on your wheels/offset. If you want to run ESP (competitively) run the R-crack!

Justin
PS - NER rocks! Can't wait for autox season to start back up.
