Just finished installing my new head unit! Amazing what it does for the stock speakers. it is a JVC KW-AV61BT. It is a very good unit for the price, the bluetooth quality for calls and streaming music is really good. Need to play with it more but so far I love it! The parking brake bypass was super easy, I just connected it with the ground wire.

Nice looks good! Around how much was it? I know a new deck will make the speakers better but I don't know I just really like having the stereo match the car. I'm weird, I think most aftermarket decks look out of place

I'm gonna have to post since pics of my fairing and mud flaps

You can't pick it up on crutchfield for 350 and it comes with a harness and trim piece. It doesn't have nav, but I just use my phone for that. You can change the color of the buttons and text to match the rest of the red in the car because it gives you full control of the rgb.

Yeah you should post some pics, those are two things on my list to get next. I also want to get hella Supertones.

Did you get RA flaps?

Nah. I got flapatax flaps and they are pretty good for the price. My car fund is super dry since I just bought the impreza a month or two ago so I'm doing it all a cheaper route for now. Which is why I probably won't upgrade the stock stereo anytime soon

Yeah I'm in the same boat, the stereo was a birthday gift. I was thinking about getting the flapatax, but I heard mixed reviews so I just haven't made a decision.

Yeah! I painted it a charcoal gray. I appreciate the work!
I'll get a newer and up close pic this weekend after I do some engine work.

Taking it in for maintenance/inspection and threw the bike on top to get to work. I think it just looks so right.

Those are some nice rims! Do you know the weight difference between those and stock?

not completely sure, but the OBS wheels felt heavier.

Haven't posted in a while so I'll catch you guys up on what I have done recently. Glad that mod season is back!

-I installed my Perrin exhaust with UEL Rallisport headers (I'll post a video soon). All I can say is, wow. Perfect sound!
-Reworked my coils a little and lowered the car more
-Received, painted and installed the STI wing
-Rebadged the "Outback Sport" to a more slanted "OB Sport"
-Perrin short throw shifter
-Last but not least, I filmed my first YouTube short so check that out below, Tips are welcome, I'm a photographer not a videographer so I really have no idea what is good or bad.

Enjoy!

Fantastic stuff! And thanks for the answers, I hope you dont mind if I steal some of your ideas for my silver OBS (35 tint and maybe the sti mirrors).

Also Im not vidoegrapher either (actually more of a hobbyist photographer as well) but great vid! Really well done. The only thing in the middle, when its panning in the garage/driving (at 1:08), I noticed in the top left corner theres the back of a sign in the foreground; sort of distracting, but thats the photographer in me probably Oh and good song too

One of these weekends when life doesnt get in the way Im gonna have to go out and shoot mine..

Oh and my biggest question, what kind of gear you using? 5D Mk II? D600?

I post to share my ideas and experiences, feel free to steal what you like

Thank you for the criticism. I understand what you are staying. I'm so used to taking a picture and later on thinking "oh I don't like that, I'll just photoshop it out". Much harder with video! I will probably just continue with my photography and only shoot video for fun.

My equipment for this video was:
D7000
Nikkor 35mm 1.8
Nikkor 50mm 1.8

We're about to have a kid and we wanted an awesome car that we could still take up to go skiing or bomb around in the snow without worrying about it's ability to deal with weather...

We picked up a 2009 Impreza Outback Sport and so far I absolutely love it! I'm sure I'll get into tweaks and mods at some point, but this car is already so great stock that I'm not in any hurry!

I'll post pics as soon as I get a chance.

I had my camera out this last week, and shot some of my sub parked. Good move I think. I didnt plan it out or anything, just snagged some while helping my friends move.
