Default 2010 sti and a 03 wrx swap

What would it take to use the motor and trans? Anyone know? I know that a lot of the parts are the same as any sti but has anyone done a swap like this or know of any problems that have been ran into

it can be done, use your intake manifold and wireharness ecu ect, plug all the cams use your cam gears, and the drivetrain will be a direct swap, dccd will not work with out a controller and drivetrain will be rwd biased.

That's what I figured but the good thing is the tans comes with the controller so that's a poise and if I have to swap the harness for the eng and bulk head that's fine mine needs to be swapped anyways

I've always been curious about a swap with an 05-09 Legacy-based 08+ STI swap into a GD chassis. I always assumed the length of the transmission from the Legacy would be too long and different to properly fit up.

way too much work, id just get a spider dccd controller and use the stock harness, and get aftermarket avcs controller if you want avcs.

good point you may need a 04-07sti driveshaft

Ok we'll I'm just wondering because a guy I know built this kids car and rolled it a few weeks ago and is selling it so I'm just wondering what it would take to use the trans and poss. Motor also

That year trans will be slightly rear biased. It has a helical center diff with the clutch packs so it can never FULLY open up unlike the 04-05 6spds. Definitely easier to get a dccdpro or spiider controller as I hear you need like all the sensors and corresponding wiring to get the factory setup to work. Dual AVCS also won't work without using the oem wiring and ecu. Someone already said plug em and use your cam gears so unless you are good at wiring or get a standalone that's the easiest way to swap it in

OH and as far as the shafts go the transmissions are all the same length so just stick with the driveline parts that fit your body style when it comes to drive shaft and cv shafts. 08+ cars are longer so the drive shaft wont work and i do believe the track is wide enough to where the cv shafts will not work. The front for sure is wider.

You'd need an 04-07 STI driveshaft or an 02-07 Impreza auto trans driveshaft. The front axle stubs need to be swapped so you can use your WRX axles.

Another big issue is the 08+ transmissions do not have vehicle speed sensors. The only fix I know of is from DCCDpro which will convert your ABS signal into a speed signal.

With the CANBUS system, it would be a big PITA to run the engine as is, with the 2010 ECU. Much easier to swap some engine components and run it off an earlier ECU like Alaskan EJ20 was saying.

The dccd pro or Jeff's spider controllers don't convert abs speed sensors that's only the vss pro to calibrate the speedometer,it has its own 2 axis g sensor to control his auto program. The controllers work good, I've used one since 2008 and Jeff has great customer service also.

I was talking about DCCD pro the company, not the part. The fix, VSS pro, is available from DCCDpro.com.

I know what u meant, I was just writing the specifics and that the actual controller doesn't use a speed sensor at all
