@Zombie Panda, the plan is to move the fuse box into the glove box and merge the harness for that through the 2 OEM grommets by the turbo. Engine harness Ill clean up and reorganize so everything is cleaner, and follow unused items back to the connectors and pop the wires out from there. Headlight, horn, and airbag harnesses will still run down the fenders. I noticed on a bunch of pages back, another member actually trimmed back the fuel lines and ran them under the brake booster, allowing his hood strut to be remounted to the strut tower instead of by the fenders. ABS unit will stay. Power steering is getting converted to AN fittings and lines with a Mishimoto universal reservoir that'll tuck up a little nicer. All fuel lines will be AN fitted as well.
Have so much work to do to it. Heres a couple photos of the rats nest before I took it apart for this rebuild. Before the top mount oil cooler: After the top mount oil cooler:

^ I’m doing much of the same.
Fuse box relocating to glove box. All the engine wiring will come from one 61-pin connector and one 4-pin connector. Transmission and Wideband wiring through one 15-pin connector in the trans tunnel. Rerouting brake hard lines inside. You will only see the 2 lines from the master cylinder going to the firewall. ABS pump is being relocated directly under the stock location on a custom bracket. Brake bias valve is being relocated inside also. Deleting the windshield wipers (Ceramic Pro coating on glass) |

Siiiiick!! Id love to just do a milspec 61 pin, but because massachusetts mod laws are god aweful, in the case of a mac letter I need to be able to plug and play an oem engine harness for a quick engine swap to have it inspected... hate to have to think like that.

I made my own delete plate to integrate the prop valve with the master cylinder and the hardlines go from the prop valve to bulkhead fittings to inside the cab from there they go to more bulkhead fittings on the wheel well area from the cab into the front brakes and the same with the rear brakes. The hardlines on the top of the master cylinders go to bulkhead fittings into the wiper motor cavity that go to the billet reservoirs. I also have a hydraulic inline pass-through E-brake "non-locking" as well. Instagram: @charlesboster or #charlesboster Last edited by ...CHUCKLES...; 01-05-2018 at 10:29 AM. |

For me there were 3 reasons to get rid of it, #1. Save weight (biggest one) especially because of the brake lines #2. I was able to setup the braking system to my preferred driving style. #3. I was able to cleanup the engine bay and just make everything a hell of a lot better looking Mostly because of #1 and #2, but #3 just came along with the other 2. |

^ Keep the good stuff coming!! I love seeing this stuff while I am deployed... As soon as I get back stateside I promise to make some additions to the thread.
Charles, I still absolutely love the items you're doing in the bay! I gotta get with you about the Titanium Nut for my PTE turbo before I have Apex treat and balance it!! I_RIDE_BIKES, looking clean! Is this the setup that you used to have on the car? RavensFan7, reminds me a lot when I did my first work in the engine bay. MUCH cleaner, but the more time you spend in this thread, the more you are going to want to clean it up even more! Regardless, well done! Peace -TurboTod |

^ Delicious! I'll be sure to shoot you a message on IG here shortly for further details. Does the overall length of the Nut have any negative affects on spool or balancing capabilities of the Compressor? I know the Ti (CP2 or Grade 5?) weighs more than the Aluminum counterpart. The longer the nut, the more of an affect it will have on balancing the compressor, correct?
Talk soon Brotha! Thanks for the eye candy though! ;-) I_RIDE: Dude! Loving it! Nice combo with the Black and Green Highlights. After doing a little more digging (ION) I see what crew you're hitting with up North. Solid... Very solid. ;-) Peace -TurboTod Last edited by TURBOTOD; 01-16-2018 at 03:18 AM. |

Minor update. Have a good friend certified for installing Ceramic Pro. This is the difference between 2 coats of color and 2 coats of clear paint only (top). To the first of 3 hardener coats of 9H and before the 2 light coats go on for more shine and the beading aspect of it. What a difference in gloss already!
Hoping to continue separating the driver side wiring harness to be able to run the plugs to their new locations this weekend. And praying the engine is ready for pick up next weekend. |

Finally getting around to putting stuff back in the engine bay. Figuring out what clips go to what sensors and trying to start to map what needs to be extended or shortened for wires in the harness. Still waiting on the engine, King Bearings .005 main bearings are on back order. If anyone has a brand new unused set, send me over a DM, need them ASAP. Once the engine returns its WFO on getting all the wiring done and get it all put back together!

The excitement is unbearable! Finally, she has her engine back. Made a ton of progress from the last post including getting all the wiring through the firewall, hiding the fuel lines under the brake booster, mocking up the engine wiring harness, installing the engine, etc.
Mocked up the wiring with the hvac system in the interior. Surprisingly the wires arent going to interfere with anything! Mocked up the oil cooler and started on the engine bay harness to see what I can pull back to the pins. Next, had to remove the gas hardlines all the way back to under the rear seat to get a proper cut and flare for rubber lines. Now they will run under the brake booster. Figured out where 90% of the harness clips go to. And finally!!!!! The highly built 2.61L, big port 207 with 282 cammed heads is now in it's resting place. Next steps: -Finish AN fittings for power steering -Finish running the fuel lines -Clean up the engine harness from unused wires -Loom engine bay harness -Wrap interior harness -Get interior back together -Prime and first start -Tune -Finish exterior body work -Paint |

So basically in a botched attempt at moving my fusebox, twice inside the compartment because I didn't like where I had it the first time tucked under the glovebox; I'm now stuck in a pickle. I was wondering if an 04 wrx front harness would work with my 02 wrx. So essentially would be the fusebox and the wires running to the driver side fender/under the rad/passenger side fender. Ive read that theres just an extra plug that isn't used on the 02 as in the 04, but I'm still not 100% sure if it will work and I kind of want to know before purchasing an 04 harness. btw only asking because I cant find an 02 wrx front harness anywhere online or in town here.

iceman I'm curious did you have to extend any wires to ger youre harness to work how you have it? or did you just depin everything one wire at a time? Looks great btw!

Thanks 02wrexx. There was 1 yellow wire I had to extend on the interior so it wouldnt be pulled tight. In the engine bay, the whole horn/headlight harness will have to be extended quite a bit, the rad fan wires will have to be extended a little, and I rerouted my maf wire and extended that. I do run full speed density, but the maf connector is just in case Massachusetts inspections go haywire and I have to swap an engine for an inspection. For the most part it was depinning 1 at a time and untangling the rats nest of an interior harness to split it left and right.
