Anyone have a recommendation for the best engine builder on the front range? ISO a decent longblock to drop in after my 257 passed away.

Back in the fold!
Recently picked up a bugeye project car to tinker with. Is this my mid-life crisis? First thing I did was raise it 2 1/4 inches. |

I only know of two Springs tuners. my buddy has used Revolutions with his 07 STi and was really happy with them.

emissions questions
Quote:
Invidia Big Tube Header - INV -HS05SW1HDP Invidia Downpipe Catted Divorced Wastegate - INV HS08SW1DOC Invidia Q300 Catback Exhaust INV HS05SL1GT3 The DP has a cat, but for some reason I'm thinking I need to put the stock one back on to try for emissions... But wouldn't I need to put in the old stock up-pipe and header back on? Clark Turner recommended I talk to TheBoostCreep LTD. They say they have a cat they can weld in that will pass emissions... But the thought of cutting into my beautiful Invidia system makes me want to cry! I have all of my stock parts back in Oregon. I'd have to ship them here for that swap. Seems like a giant pain in the ass to do a swap every few years. Plus screw up my tune. Has anyone gone though TheBoostCreep and done the welded in cat? Thanks. ~Emily |

I plan to buy another downpipe for my EFR that has a cat. I'll swap in for emissions and then take it back out. I hear they look for that more now. 10+ years ago, I'd pass without cats without issue.
After my first pass, I'll be sure to hit enough roadside testers through the year, by my work and let off the throttle in gear prior to and while passing it... Even though I'm sure my car would pass anyway. I just like to show how silly those things are while they count for an emission test. |

You'd need what they call "GESI" Cats from Vibrant. They are expensive, $400 for 1 cat, but they will pass emissions in Colorado no problem.

I'm in the same boat fellas. I just moved here form Texas and need to get my 07 wrx inspected and registered.
I have a cobb catted down pipe mated to a greddy evo cbe (evo 2 i think?) with a protune. I remember the guys at AWDtuning in Dallas saying it was a pretty aggressive tune so im sure it would fail with flying colors. What are my options? I don't have the parts to go back to stock. Would an access port help me here? I have been limping it around since I've been here, and need to get it re-tuned anyways. Any chance I could pass with my parts and a protune? |

I had one welded into my catless dp at 5250 Performance and passed emissions with flying colors. Expensive, but worked great. |

Can you pass the co emissions test with modified exhaust if you have cats in place?

Cobb hi-flow cat never did the trick for me in an '07 STi - I had to swap in the stock cat to pass. Had a vibrant cat welded into my '02 WRX and passed with flying colors last year. Both of these cars had non-stock exhausts, with the '02 also having an EWG. |

I'm not sure how it works moving from another state, but also note that vehicles newer than 7 years old are emissions exempt. We just had to get our 2011 STi tested this year for the first time. So you might not have to worry about your 2015 for awhile.
Hope the move goes smoothly! Prepare for some power loss due to elevation... |

anyone looking for a muffler delete axle back? i currently have a nameless axleback and looking to move over to invidia.
or know of a good outlet in the denver area where someone might be looking for used parts? not sure when the previous owner put the exhaust on, but car only has 7400 on it, so it's not that old... coming off a 2018 wrx |

Anyone near foco? Just moved out here two months ago, with my wife and two kids. Colorado was in the plans for the last few years, and this place is spectacular compared to living near the east coast.
