The cool thing about this is you can f up all you want and you can always fix it. My wife accidentally kicked it accross the room when she ran into the garage. Half hour later, everything was back together and in better shape then it started off with. So don't worry about fin up and go for it

I can't since they wouldn't fit...they only fit the 06-07 wagon bumpers. The sedans, stis and everything else is different
I'd have to find someone that would let me borrow their car for 3 weeks, and wouldn't mid being the test pig for a sedan version. +They wouldn't mid me drilling their spare tire well and bumper... |

Nice DIY composite work. I'm guessing the resin you used from Walmart was just the basic polyester resin?
Just a suggestion. Epoxy resin systems can be bought in higher viscosities which would help reduce the upsidedown application - dripping issue. Epoxy resins are stronger, but sanding the excess off is more labor intensive. And if someone wanted to use CF cloth they should be using an epoxy resin system anyways. Again, great job!!! |

read the rest of Sausages' posts, he made this a DIY (do it YOURSELF) and gave great instructions. Last i read, he has no interest in making more, nor does he have every MY and package to work with. This is a great DIY cause you can make a custom diffuser to make your car stand out from the others without doing some ugly decal work on some neon color paint.
BTW Sausage, how is your oversteer corner technique going? |

I work with fiberglass a lot and was happy to see a project like that along nasioc. What would people be interested to pay for a primed ready to ship model for a 2002 sedan Rex model ?! I can probably cut down the 35 hours in half and get a better finish (make a mold and then work with the positive inprint)
I don't want to take any credit off your post. I don't like plain 'bolt on' project since everybody else can buy them. I own a bodyshop and would be open to any suggestions. Again, good job ! |

i think someone could make some money if they could mass produce these with a mold (for gd sedans of course).

I can find a solution to the drilling thing for sure. Double side tape could be a solution (3M, not 'no name brand' ) or eurethane.
I fully understand your position about drilling. Quite simple, ANY holes made will, even under good care, rust after a while. I went fast trough the DIY and I'd have to take a closer look at my car to bring fresh ideas. |
