yeah i ended up removing the center caps on the gt500 cause shelby embossed logo. along with the lugs, that car i did with them off. and used glossifier for the 1st time, they came out awesome but ended up being alot more work. if thats what you want go for it, but by no means is it "neccisary".

and overspray? lol that **** falls or rubs off after the 1st couple drives just dont spray it like a 6 years old with crayons all over the walls. ive done bags or rags behind, and after doing some with them on and without you literally cant tell.

but it varies mostly on taste and wheel design, some are easier to get in the corners than others. my brothers FC turned out sick, for some POS konigs i got for free

You can probably put a layer of tape on the inside walls of your tire iron to thicken them up a little. Then slide the iron onto the lugs a couple of times.

Here is my "Audi Mask" I did with some simple red pinstriping and a can of plasti-dip. I seem to have been catching a lot of **** from the first picture I had up here so I swapped it out with some better pictures I managed to get this afternoon on my off day. To each his own. I don't like every DIY or dipped car or this or that, but I don't hate on people. I have a ton of rock chips and blemishes in the blacked out area so it really helped me... I mean the car has 189k miles on it, original turbo. I even rode the original clutch out to 175k....back on topic. My Audi Mask Front End

go back again and look at those pics I put up. The original pic was a really crappy picture off my cell phone. IMO I think it looks great. None the less it;s plasti-dip thread material and if you have followed this thread from the get go, I am pretty sure that there has been way more ghetto uses for it than what I did which IMO is tasteful and functional for my bumper that already needs replacing.

Trudd, very nice. It's like one of those pics that looks like 2 different things depending how you look at it. At 1st it looked like a very cool front end illusion. Then it looked like an ugly chick with her mouth open ready to, well, you know. Then it looked like a cool grill again.

I think it'd look better with black pinstripe instead of red. IMO only a AW wrx/sti can pull it off.

I like it trudd. A+ for being a little different and creative. I probably wouldn't do it to mine, but its still a cool idea and you did a good job

Default Went a little crazy w/ the plati dip

We JUST got the car completely repainted and the chipped factory wheels were killing me. I don't have cash right now for new rims - so I spent my saturday cleaning the wheels and putting 5-6 coats of satin plasti-dip on them. I think they turned out great and it was an awesome quick fix. I also dipped (sprayed actually) the rear muffler tip as the flowmaster tip was originally bright a$$ chrome and did NOT look right on the car.

She goes in next week for brand new tint all the way around - i'll post pics:

Before:

After:

here's the muffler tip - and I already checked, dip can go up to 200 degrees per the label:

Looks good! Are you sure the exhaust temp isn't over 200 degrees F when it exits the pipe? My guess is that the exhaust tip gets a bit hotter than that. Hope it works out though!

KAIN81 I merged your thread with the plasti dip thread, since it's plasti dip. No need for a million threads with it.

My flame spitting street bike's exhaust was dipped and it was fine, no fires with it dipped for 4 months.

Good to hear - after I saw the temp on the can I also googled it and found quite a few people who had their tips dipped for over a year with no issues. The wife loves it now - can't wait for the new tint!

I was contemplating to the lower window trim as it is speckled and looks beat up - but was thinking that using an actual trim black paint might be better in the long run. Thoughts?

I dipped my rims blaze yellow a while back and didnt come out like i had planned. Sprayed it too thin and it came out looking like a tennis ball. Anyways, ive had a very difficult time removing the PD. My buddy had sprayed brake cleaner to take it off and it worked for some areas. But he ended up smearing it and when i noticed it was too late. Any suggestions on how i can get the remainder off? I have already tried the pressure washer and using goo gone. This stuff is ON there.

IMO Goof off workls! just spray it and use a micro fiber cloth or rim brush..it should do the trick...
