Default Moving to Fayetteville, GA - questions about emissions

Wife and I are about to move to Fayetteville rather quickly, probably within two to three weeks. After driving around and seeing all of the emissions testing signs, I didn't even realize that was something they did there. We both drive modded Forester XTs (STi turbos, aftermarket up/downpipes, intake, and full TBE). One is running on a Cobb AP and the other through a different Protune, so no CELs.

This is my first time dealing with emissions testing, what should I do from this point?

I wish I could help but I have no clue about the Cobb/Protune stuff. I do know if you don't have a cat. converter you won't pass if they look. Does the Cobb/Protune read through the OBDII port? The OBDII port is how they read the ECU.

Emission testing is a total scam by the way.

From some of the things I read I should be fine with a Cobb AP or tune as long as a CEL doesn't show present, also read don't reset the battery within 100 miles or so of the testing with a modified vehicle just in case.

Sounds like (from searching the net) a lot of people probably pay someone off for a sticker.

You should be fine as long as all your readiness monitors are reading ready and you have no CEL. They have only ever plugged into the OBD for me, never a visual check or sniffer. It seems like the visual check is random though and hit or miss dependent on the place you get checked. You could always wrap the downpipe or clamp on some cheap sheet metal to make it look like you have a cat heat shield if you fail visual.
