Default Gauge wiring question

What wire off of the clock harness do I tap into for power to a guage?
Bat, Lig, or Acc

i'm doing my gauges this weekend.

quoting a thread i'm too lazy to lookup: i'm looking into this solution.

use the harness on the stereo!

You can get the connector from Pep Boys - Part# 85194 "Hitachi Clutch Coil Socket". I think it was 2 or 3 bucks. That plug allows you to plug into the back of the stereo harness and will provide power to the gauge. It adjusts along with your dimmer as well. When you pull the stereo out there is an unused connector that is taped to the rest of the stereo harness. Plug that connector there and run wire to your gauge. It doesn't matter which way you hook the wires up to the gauge.

but provided i can't get the harness: i have 4 wires on my greddy gauges:

12v = Red
12v Ignition = Orange
12v Lighting = White
Ground = Black

okay... where the heck do i hook these puppies? the red is easy, the black is easy, the ignition and lighting are a mystery... i'm guessing the lighting is for the dimmer.. where do i hook this up?

um thats it

I think others have just used the clock harness. Depending on where you are installing the gauges. That's the logical choice if you are putting in a pod to replace the clock. The clock has 12v constant/ignition/illumination/ground on the harness. Here is a recent thread that documented what is where (or you could search for other threads that also document things)

I'm not sure anyone has bothered making the dimmer work. Illumination just means when the lights are on the gauge lights are on too. Ignition is when you turn the key the gauge will go to 0 or do whatever.

FWIW, on my digital guages, the dash illumination dims mine so they aren't so bright at night (they reduce intensity when they sense 12v power to the "dim" connectors). I left it off, since I like full brightness all the time.

Does anyone know where to get the wiring harness for the clock? Part Number? So I can wire my gauges nice and clean. I asked the dealer but they did not help much.
