i've also noticed tuner shops and vendors in the US up playing the kits that are developed by themselves. hmmm, how come all the US tuners keep pushing their(and other shops) $7k turbo kits, but never mention you can get that power with a bolt on turbo? kinda sounds like you guys are trying to make some extra bucks on the uninformed.

all i know is that AVO has been tuning 500+ hp wrx's since the time when most people here in the states were tinkering with their honda civics trying to break a 14 sec 1/4 mile(atleast me and my friends were in the early-mid 90's). AVO must have a tad more knoledge and experience than any little hole in the wall tuner, no? especially since AVO products are sold and reputable WORLDWIDE! maybe the cracked turbos are caused by the polarity of northern america vs australia(i aint a scientist) or maybe its the US tuners not noting or accepting their own tuning mishaps?
I fail to see the battle that is going on, in fact I only see two companies trying to discuss a problem. If I was Kingpin and recieved a turbo packed like that, I would be pissed too. Not to say that is the whole story, but anyone selling turbo's should know better. Most people know that AVO makes some killer turbo kits, no reason to get into excessive ass kissing

As far as failure on used turbo's, I agree with some of your points. But when someone has obviously not abused a turbo and installed it correctly, should they not expect a warantee? To me it seems like an obvious design flaw that was corrected after they realized that the housing was cracking. I know they have been tuning suby's for a long time, but is that to say they are the only ones that are capapable and never make mistakes?

Not going to choose sides or anything, but maybe you should just let them work it out themselves.

You are an idiot.

Please find a nearby available small body of water, for example a bathtub. Plug in a toaster to the nearest receptacle. Seat yourself in the water. You know the drill.

Out from the depths. I raise the AVO thread. Just curious if the housng issues are put to bed? I'm looking at purchasing a preowned AVO450.

i am running a avo 500 no problems so far. If the turbo says avo on the side and there is no cracks on the exhaust housing you should be fine.
