Default EJ257 Built Longblock | Blown Headgasket

$2000 picked up. Comes with everything you see in the pictures.

I could continue to break this down but I wouldn't benefit outside a small margin being able to sell everything separately and currently my shop is in enough of a disarray.

The block was originally assembled by Tom Hooker in Avon. He incorrectly installed the 1/2 headstuds (both in threading and torque) and after final assembly and break in two of the studs basically worked themselves out of the threads and the head lifted, resulting in an internal and external coolant leak.

The engine was then broken down by Turn In Concepts and the casehalves were shipped to California to have new threads pressed into the two that failed. Block was reassembled to TIC specs and all was well for 6-7k miles until another external leak (this time oil). My assumption is that another of the studs worked itself out and that the case halves should again be sent off to have more (if not all) the threads replaced by inserts which I am told are stronger than simply cutting the threads. This caused a dilemma which ultimately led to my disassembly and selling of the car/parts/engine.

You may disassemble and find out it's simply a blown head gasket. It may be because the head lifted and the studs worked out. You'll know once you crack it. I don't have the time and if I did have time I'd rather be doing something else.

There was never any shiny oil, pressure was always fine and oil was changed on a very frequent basis (E85, large ring gap, etc). External inspection of the parts and pieces look fine and I have no reason to believe the rotating assembly was in any way compromised. It was running fine up until the day I shut it off due to the puddle on the floor.

This longblock has:

- IAG 99.75mm 1/2" stud conversion case halves
- IAG specific ARP 1/2" studs
- Stock Crank
- King Bearings
- Manley Turbo Tuff Rods
- Manley Extreme Duty 99.75 Pistons
- Ported Cylinder Head (coated by Loyale Fabrications)
- Full Ferrara valvetrain/valves (coated)
- Kelford Spec C camshafts (Dual AVCS)
- Thermal dispersant coated covers

I know the bearings mean nothing now, and IF IT WAS ME AGAIN I'd just buy some new IAG heads that were CNC ported, a 99.75 bored standard block, put this stuff in it, run a 30R or something and rock out. The choice is yours. If you buy it relatively soon I'll throw in all the sensors and other misc **** for a nominal fee.

The cams, rods and springs are worth that. Keep the rest and all the pulleys/sensors and gears and you're money ahead.
