Subaru would have to be stupid to build a minivan at this point. The sales in that segment have been declining for years now.
The only minivan I've heard good things about (and soccer moms are the only ones loving it. I've only heard fathers groaning) recently is the Honda Odyssey.

Honda Odyssey is dope.

I retract my vote for Subaru minivan. Too much logic thrown at me.

Yeah, I could easily put a lot of those dope features into an Ascent myself. Mostly it comes down to the rear entertainment system it looks like. I can install one of those myself with all aftermarket parts. Don't need to have a top heavy, unstable platform like a minivan to have one.

Yes, it looks dope, but I'm still less than enamored.

I was thinking of Honda's side cameras. They're pretty useful. I think Subaru might have implemented them in a model recently too? Maybe in Japan? I was specing out the Ascent yesterday and didn't see it as a feature. I was happy to see the moonroof as an option on the Limited as I thought it was only available on the Touring. Touring doesn't have a lot more over the Limited for the price tag.

Odyssey interior isn't bad either. I haven't been in an Ascent yet. Just pics and videos. The Ascent Concept was really neat up close.

Selling like hotcakes compared to 2013.
Sales always drop leading up to a model change.

Yeah, ditto, didnt really realize all the engineering blocks but they make sense.

Bring that crossover truck though. Subaru needs to jump on the ridgelines bandwagon while the getting is good.

I spent a lot of time in both current gen Odyssey and Sienna. Also Caravan/Town & Country. Out of that experience, once I decided to buy a van I chose Sienna over Odyssey. But Odyssey is good.

I actually quite like driving it. Basically everything the exact opposite of your takes. Minivan is pretty much the ultimate vehicle. It's easy to acknowledge when you're not afflicted by the stigma, makes life a lot easier.
