Default To trade, or not to trade...?

Hey everyone. I just upgraded from an '07 Impreza, to a 2019 Impreza 5 door about 5 months ago. Both automatic.

My new car has almost been in 2 major accidents (ABS saved my life). One of which left coffee coating the entire interior, included spots on my tan headliner. I also managed to gash my glovebox which has been eating at me in appearance (I'm OCD). I have contemplated just replacing the glovebox (about $50) if I can find a new OEM.

Lately I have been wishing I had got into the 5 speed manual, as this car would be so much more fun to drive. My question is, should I just keep my CVT, and try to fix its blemishes, or try to jump into a brand new stick Impreza next year, and cut my losses? How much money would I stand to lose?

I might seem too materialistic to some, but for some reason I get a bad vibe, or bad ju-ju with this car. Some might understand. Any responses appreciated.

I would definitely try test driving one before committing to buying one, I havenít heard great things about the 5MT and FB20 combo in the new Imprezas, but have heard better things about the 6MT in the crosstrek. Maybe someone can chime in that has driven one.

I have a 2007 with manual I like a lot, but after driving a 2018 CVT for a few months, and driving the wifeís 4EAT FB25 Forester, the manual makes a huge difference, but even the 4EAT feels so much better than the FB20 CVT, not for any lack of refinement in the CVT but the fact the engine is smaller.

TLDR I donít know if the manual alone will get you the experience youíre looking for, Iíve driven a 2007 Impreza with the manual and a 2018 with the CVT, and the older school manual you had. I think itís more the engineís characteristics that are bugging you and the manual might not fix that alone

I understand that some cars do come doomed with issues from the factory. I’ve had 2-3 cars like this where bad luck just plagues them.

Regardless of financial losses, life is too short. I would get the new 5speed and enjoy every minute of it. GL!

Order Subaru part number a0072538nn, new age spirit exercise kit. Follow the instructions to replace the factory installed bad spirit with the upgraded new good spirit.

Life is short. Get the car that's fun to drive.
You can always make more money. You can't make the lost time for fun back.

If it won't put you in an uncomfortable financial situation, I say go for what makes you happy.

Otherwise, look into having an exorcism for your Impreza. I hear that Hennessey & Camaro teamed up for a "Demon Slaying Exorcist"

if you are getting bad ju-ju from this car I don't think you have a choice?

am I right?
I mean this is America for god damn's sake! Nobody, and I mean NOBODY should be driving a car they get bad ju-ju from.

I can agree with this. My problem is that I go through different phases where different things are fun to drive.

Default Sell

I think you're always better off selling on your own instead of trading in. Maybe list it and see what kind of responses you get.

If you're unhappy and have the funds go for it.... I think all of us on this forum have the same cash guzzling addiction
