Thoughts on springs... ?
My bugeye has '04 STI take-offs and I'm looking to upgrade; get some springs. I've heard good things about the RCE Yellows, think they'd be too stiff for the OEM struts? Even though they are designed for the OEM struts... I'm talking about longevity here.
I autocross approximately every 3 weeks, I'd like to make it to a track one day I did some searching around and here's what a bugeye looks like with STI take-offs and RCE Yellows. Do you think it drops too much in the rear? Looks too low? kthnxbye

RCE yellow + Ohlins (or Blistein) Struts will be a good combo. I think any lowering springs will kill your stock struts it is just matter of time.
However, a good setup of coilovers will perform more than springs/struts combo within similar price range...Maybe time to research bugeye coilover setup for comparison... |

If my thoughts were on springs they'd keep bouncing back.

If you're worried they're going to be too low, just get the RCE blacks. I've been half-thinking about going to the wagon RCEs and changing my front camber plates to non-lowering ones.

Im planning on upgrading my springs/struts soon as well, got an 02 wrx btw. I did alot of research and have decided on swift sport spring. These springs can be used with oem struts, the drop is moderate 30mm in the front 15mm in the back, they improve handling while keeping a compfortable ride. email gary at http://www.mann-engineering.com/ if you have questions about them. http://www.mann-engineering.com/cars...rontdriver.jpg. ride height

I have driven about 50k km on swift sport springs. No problems at all, in any situation from autox to snow days.
You would want to make sure you get the bump stops done at installation IIRC. |

And it is not overkill for DD if you have coilover setup properly. Of coz you don't need those really hardcore coilovers for DD or Autocross... However, for springs, I trust RCE or swift ones as they are pretty easy on the stock struts from reviews... Quote:
Tested them in person on two of my friends' cars, they are not that bad for the price and quality... Last edited by Linkseal; 06-02-2010 at 09:25 PM. |

I love my BCs
People talk **** about them all the time....usually it's the power'd by mom kids with 3500$ coilovers talking **** though.....at least they're my coilovers, not my parents that i put on my car. IMO they are good bang for buck, of course not as good as more expensive coilovers, but that's to be expected. |

I have ran STi springs, wagon Pinks, RCE Wagon Yellow on different combination of stock WRX, STi and koni struts. RCE Yellow + Koni is by far the best spring + struts setup for DD and some AutoX.
You could have bought my coilovers for under 1000 |

^ pretty simple, just make sure you wash them more often esp. during the winter, keep them away from salt/rust on the adjust treads and springs.
For servicing, no worry, I heard BC racing has replacement strut for cheap, like $50 each if IIRC |

Like the Suggestion: One more question

I'm looking to get some lowering springs because I think my OEM springs are shot. I bought an 02 WRX about a month ago with 150k+ miles on it. The left side is visibly sagging lower than the right and all the tire pressures are the same at all four corners. Any diagnoses? |
