Default Can I rent an Air Card from anyone in the Houston TXIC?

I need to travel for about a week and will pay $100 for the 7 days for an Air Card if anyone has one that will work. I would need it this weekend sometime and will return it next Thursday/Friday/weekend. No I will not surf PRoN I just need it for business. AT&T and Sprint want 2 year contracts and I have no need for contracts.
Thanks
HKP

If you were in Dallas id just let you use it

verizon has the deal were you can buy it. and if you dont like it within 15 days you can either RETURN it or EXCHANGE (id ask them before signing up) then just take it back after your trip and say you didnt like it

both have 30 day trials. Just pay for actual usage. So do the contract and return hardware next week. Or look at clear mobile, or pdanet if you have an iphone, android. Or winmo.

Also check out virgin mobile, they have a pay as you go. Granted the card is 100 bucks...but still. And it uses the sprint network.

Depending on where you are going Cricket has an aircard that is free right now. No contracts. Its 3g speed in covered areas. Also Clear is launching/launched in certain areas and thats no contracts as well.

Clear works quite well in Houston I was down there a couple weeks ago with my Clear card (that I got up here). 4G technologies are definitely the way to go 3g just doesn't cut it for true mobile high speed.

I've used Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, and now Clear 4G. Clear wins by a factor or 4-5 easy. Of course coverage is much more limited and you have to be within a city that supports it. BTW Clear's no contract is ONLINE only which I highly suggest you do if your interested. Also Verizon is supposed to roll out LTE late 2010/early 2011 which may very well be better but we'll see.

you can just use my verizon card if you want - but I'm in san antonio... If you want to pay for overnight shipping both ways we could still figure it out probably. However verizon and sprint both have 30 day trials, you'll end up spending about 60 bux for the service.

Thanks, I went and got a Cricket Card, it appears to work well but then again, I'm not on the road. Thanks for the good info. It's appreciated.

That's unpossible! Oh wait... no it's not.

My 3G is tethered to my Vaio laptop and my phone isn't jailbroken anymore. It will be later on tonight, but it isn't at the moment.

Hell, I can tether from my v3 motorola razr to my mac... 200kbps
(wish I had a 3g Phone... tethered a nokia at 400 kbps dwnld one time ... While taking a call with it )

I've always found it much easier to set up with a mac for whatever reason.

Most phones with bluetooth are able to do this as long as you know the right apn and such

No, but it sure will be expensive when you're paying .03 per kilobyte downloaded.

I would say yes. The iPhone 3Gs allows me to BT tether and it's faster than my sprint card. I can also talk to my clients while surfing teh net.

No need to have any contracts with 4grent, they offers 4G aircard and other wireless internet devices. Hope it helps to resolve your problem.

If you're willing to pay for it, pay for it. There are plenty of companies that do per-paid and contractless air cards:
