![]() I need a job. And I don't want to work in retail. I've already done that. I'd prefer an entry level job with computers but I'll take anything from a company. I have a little programming experience and sorta taught myself HTML. Is there anywhere I could get a job where they would train me at the same time? If anybody knows of ANY entry level job with a corporation in the USF area, please let me know.

![]() Keep hunting!
I imagine the central florida market is pretty good. I used to live down there and always noticed a lot of IT tech jobs there. I'm up in g'ville, sc and have been working in IT (fulltime) since 98. Sometimes you might have to start at a low level area (like helpdesk) to get the experience and foot into the door. But keep plugging away. The IT sector has changed a lot over the last year or so with the .com explosion. BUT companies are still looking for sharp folk, who are willing to learn new technologies and are teachable, etc. Do some hunting on online sites like www.flipdog.com, www.monster.com, etcl. HTH. Good luck. ~V |

![]() Unfortunately the job market for any kind of tech jobs kind of suck ATM in Tampa. I'll be lucky to hold on to my current job much longer if a new contract doesn't come in soon. Most of the jobs you'll see are contract type jobs though. Your best bet though will be to look in Sunday's paper at the job for AOL. Yeah it's gonna suck and you could get a bad shift but if your in retail now there's really no good shifts. It's experience though and they pay is like $10.50/hour with a chance for montyly bonuses. Just don't use me as a reference if you want the job =)

![]() Wait let me write that down...references, Bill-ContourSE. Ok good.
Time Warner has 40 positions open and the HR lady called me and left a message, I called her back and left a message, so eventually I'll get in contact with her. I really didn't want to do customer service but that's what it looks like I'll be doing. But it's better than retail. And it'll pay better hopefully. |

![]() Even if you get an entry level job with anything computer related it's most likely going to be billed as Customer Service unless your doing business to business support. Even it it's not what you want to do to begin with a start is a start. I'm sure you'll be fine but if your not used to sitting at a desk it can be hard.
