Doesn't explain why the clock stays correct though, would be interesting to see a village meter on crank though

Yeah you would think the whole display would be powered from the same source. Also the peak boost would reset too I would think.

Add me to the club, happened once when I bought the car in May, then yesterday (right before I saw this post... Spooky)

Got down to 40s, car coughed a bit on initial startup.... and my triple meter and Eco summary screens were reset. I had my triple gauge set to Boost, Accel%, Trip MPG. Peak boost, clock, anniversary/birthdays, Trip A/B still intact, just the triple gauge and Eco summary screens reset. '15 LE so it's not WRX specific.

I took delivery end of March and mine keeps resetting. My wife got her 15 last month and her's isn't doing it. Seems like they fixed the issue.

Mine does this too. Usually after sitting for 3-4 days in a row or after a particularly cold evening. I got mine in May. Havent been to a dealer yet

I'm %95 sure it's happening on the colder nights. Anyone else notice a correlation with temperature? (Note that this thread was active in April, then went dead until October)

Yes I noticed a correlation with colder temps too

I have had this occur as well. 3 times so far since May 9th. The issue occurred for me once over the summer so the outside temperature may not be a consistent wat to test for the issue. I also noticed that the clock retained the correct time.

If this is a power related issue I would expect the clock to reset as well.

I'm going friday for my CEL/RPM dropping issue - http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2677824 -
along with my fuel door not popping open. I will also bring up triple meter reset issue that I am also experiencing. Discouraging that there are so many issues so quick.. I had an Acura TL for 10 years that I only had to bring to the dealer once.

I haven't had the triple meter reset since my last post, and there have been several cool nights in the 40s. One cool night I turned off everything in the car as suggested earlier in this thread, but I have no idea of that made any difference since it hasn't reset at all since halloween.

I did e-mail Subary and got this response:

Thank you for taking the time to contact Subaru of America, Inc. regarding this concern with the triple meter in your 2015 WRX Sedan.

In reviewing your message, I am unsure if this issue has been duplicated by your Subaru retailer. If not, please contact them to schedule a service appointment. When your appointment is set, please let me know. I can then gather information from the Service Manager after the inspection.

We have become aware of this issue and are looking into it. Once a resolution to this concern is available, we will be reaching out to the Service Managers at Subaru retailers. That is why it is necessary to have the duplication performed by your retailer.

Thank you, John, for the opportunity to be of service.

Sincerely,

John J. Mergen

The cooler the temperatures have gotten the more my MFD has been resetting. Going to stop by the dealer tomorrow and see what they have to say about. I have several buddies with 15's and they aren't having this issue. I called in to SOA and reported it to them as well about a month ago when it first started happening to me.

"Initializing" Still didn't work, I might try turning the key and waiting for the screen to come on and then cranking... will submit to SOA but I am not going to bring in to the dealer to be the guinea pig lol... Will post SOA response on this thread as well... hopefully there will be a software update soon...

i just scheduled an appointment for wednesday 11/12. i told them it will not happen to them because it only happens on the first start up after sitting all night. it has been resetting almost daily now that temps are 30-40 degrees in the morning. when i bought the car last may i only had it happen once randomly. then it was every couple weeks once the weather start dropping in september, then every couple days, now its almost every day. it resets the triple meter, date, saved bdays, peak boost, and always resets to the stock boost gauge. the clock is the only thing that doesnt reset. ive tried turning the lights on first, letting the screen run through, and checking voltage on start up. like someone else said, if the voltage is enough to only wipe some of the rom's and maybe not the the one that saves the clock.

went today to get CEL, fuel door, and triple gauge fixed... they fixed the CEL, didn't have parts for the fuel door, and were clueless about the triple gauge..

Sorry to reopen an old thread. I've had very similar issues as this.

Months ago, I had a CEL come up where my RPMs were fluctuating UP, not down. Engine was revving up to about 2k on its own (even while driving...). The behavior went away after resetting the ignition, and the CEL went away after a few days, but it freaked me out. I brought it in and they did an update, which they say addressed it. Hasn't come back

My fuel door never opens all the way. I have to try to gently pry it open with a credit card, rather than my fingers. Being that it's about 0-10 degrees her in MN, I can't risk running out of fuel. I'm going to take it in pretty soon to get it checked out.

I'm also now running into the triple meter resetting itself since it started getting cold. Start the car after a night of sitting, and it will randomly be reset back to defaults. I typically have [temp, avg mpg, PSI], and it will be reset back to defaults. You can always tell it reset because it will be sitting on the boost gauge screen when it first comes up. Also, the "icy road" warning will come up right away too, which may or may not be linked with the reset.

Hopefully they'll at least be able to fix the fuel door, as that is more important than the triple meter.

Honestly, I'm surprised at needing to bring the car in as much as I've needed to so far. I thought when I bought a new car, I wouldn't have as many problems. I've had even more with this car. (CEL, shifter problems (twice...), fuel door, MFD... ) At least it's under warranty.

I have an appointment tomorrow per SOA's recommendation. I'm sure it will be "unable to replicate" since it does it when the car sits a couple days without being started.

Mine has definately done it many times on just a single overnight, and I still think there is some correlation with temp. It was below freezing last night, I parked it at about 8 PM and by 9 AM the triple meter had reset.

But yea, good luck with replicating it at the dealer. I know I'm not leaving my car for a week, heck I'm getting used to resetting it in the morning, it's my warm up minute now.

Just got back from my appointment with the dealer. They diagnosed it as a week battery and replaced my battery. I'm hopeful that it fixes the issue but I doubt we all have weak batteries. I'll report back if it resets.

I hope that does the trick. Mine just reset again this morning. As soon as I started it, I was immediately greeted by the chime and the "Icy road" warning. I knew that it had reset when that popped up. Sure enough, I'm looking at the boost gauge when it booted up. Reset.

I'm going to take mine in next week to get an oil change, check the fuel door, and hopefully get a new battery (if that's what they determine the fix is). Let us know if you see a reset again.

Will do. It's going to sit over the weekend so I'll know Monday morning for sure.

I have had the icy road message and chime without a reset several times in the past week or two.
