Where do you take your subaru for repairs?
I no longer want to shell out mass amounts of money to the dealer. I am looking for a subaru shop that has a good reputation. I know of IAG but are there others in the College Park MD/DC area?

You might try Andrewtech Automotive in Gaithersburg, or Mach V in Sterling, VA

I HIGHLY reccomend ALLGEN PERFORMANCE in College Park MD.
I have been a customer & friend there for years and they are the only shop I trust (Besides my job at a Subaru dealership) They have worked on all my subarus from my 97 OBS and helping me mod my 2 WRXs. I'll actually be getting some work done today so I'll be there this afternoon. |

I normally do my own work, but replacing a clutch in my unheated garage in the middle of winter was not something I wanted to do again, so I took my car to AndrewTech this passed Monday. They got it done in a day, for a good price (parts were supplied by me), and didn't charge me labor to repair the transmission snout (still charged me for parts, understandibly). The quality of their work greatly surpassed IAG.

I took my car to Andrewtech last Friday. I was a little nervous leading up to dropping it off because the place was new to me. I went in for a noise I thought was a bad release bearing. They replaced the parts that needed replacing and let me take the car home the same day. Unfortunately, as soon as I got home and started driving in stop and go traffic the noise came back like nothing had been done (not blaming anyone). The guys were awesome throughout the process and offered to have me bring it back this coming Friday for free. Hopefully whatever it is can be fixed soon. The car is just sitting in the garage because I don't want to drive it so uber and the bus are my rides to work for now |

Since im in Loudoun County, i usually go out to MachV.
I try to do my own work but not having a garage is kind of hard. I find myself at friend's garages and worse case movie parking garages lol. Once i run into a jam and give up, ill go to the shop and then get a nice invoice reminding myself why i did my own work lol. I hear a couple good things about Andrewtech, IAG but long turn around time and heard at Agile was okay too. Steer away from Moore for major mechanics, but their tuner is good. (Heard multiple horrid stories) Steer away from P-Tuning, i've also heard horrid stories there. |

I prefer to do my own work on everything, but I've had good experiences at Mach V. While I haven't used IAG (they are a bit of a drive for me), I've been super impressed with their customer service. JJ Jabari, the owner, is routinely on Facebook directly dealing with any single person who has an issue... and while Dan at Mach V is great, IAG seems to have a bit of a different culture.
