I'm definitely in...the 24-hour autocross ROCKS!
Important notes about the 24-hour event: 1: It has rained at EVERY 24-hour event I've been to (which has been 3 of them so far, IIRC)...plan accordingly. 2: You WILL be VERY TIRED at the end of the event (unless you are one of those wusses that leaves to go sleep partway through ) and driving home can be quite dangerous in this condition...plan accordingly. This is a great event to "finish off tires" or to get PLENTY of seat time! Shane -- http://www.warpthree.com DSP 729 -- CCar Region |

Not for me this year. I am more than likely going to be doing some form of pickup for Elizabeth's car. OMG is everyone going to drop a gold one when they see this thing.
It will be funny to see some GTs and some EVOs getting shocked off the line by a 12 year old car.... hehehehehe |

Well, I was actually thinking about doing this on th drive into work this morning, but it is 250 mi and 4 hours away
edit: okay I am reconsidering now that I remember it is a long weekend. 4 hrs is like a trip to atlanta, so - not so bad. QUESTION: The way I read it, I can show up at 3pm for the registration if I don't want to run for the whole 24hrs...correct? I would have to get up too early to get there for teh 9AM registration Last edited by thrdeye; 08-28-2003 at 10:38 AM. |

I'm bringing an EZup this time (and somehow stuffing it in the Jetta.) The rain sucks, but I just pretty much expect it now. Hopefully at some point during the 24 hours I'll get some dry runs, unlike last year.
Shane: As for condition #2 of the event, I'm going above and beyond. Not only am I driving home afterwards, I'm driving to the beach as well. 7 hours of driving after the event! Wheeee! I might try to post some pics once I'm there. Last edited by DrBiggly; 08-28-2003 at 12:04 PM. |

Not that I'm even considering going, but can I get some more details on this event? How many runs will you get and what kind of spacing between runs? Do you show up with a full tank of gas?

I would love to see more subarus there! Hope you guys can make it! Here's the format (roughly):
You can register for 12hrs or 24hrs. You sign up to work for 1 2hr session for each 12hrs you register for. Other than your work session, you can try to get as many runs as possible. You get 6 offical runs (declared before starting the run). We have several different times that registration is offically open, but if I'm not busy I will register someone about any time. It's hard to say how many runs you can get. It depends on how long you're there, how long the lines stay, what times you run, etc. I think the record stands at like 40 or 50! I know that I have made more runs at a 24hr event than I have in a whole season! It just depends on the turnout, etc. The course is shaping up and it looks like it will be a fairly fast, very even on the tires, roughly 35sec run. This should keep the lines moving and keep people from wearing their tires completly out, like the silly round-abouts someone put in the course last year (cough, miata driver, cough). So anyway, hope to see you there! For more info, hit our website: www.ccrsolo2.org Steven |

I remember those things. I wasn't fond of them, but I used them as a learning experience nonetheless. Hopefully I won't run into those blasted things again. From the sound of it, they're banned for a while.

Me and my friends should be out there we will have about 3 canopies setup. So a lot of shade there plus I will be bringing a couple extra chairs. Oh and from what I hear its not ging to rain saturday but sunday. I love the rain |

I'll probably stop by some, but I doubt I'll be driving. Although, Mike Martin will be driving my Miata out there due to his rod getting a little too friendly with his block. Funny... see-through blocks don't seem to go very quick?! Partly I don't have the extra cash, and partly b/c I mostly just feel like relaxing some this weekend. If I do run it'll be in the first 12 hours and then I'll head out. Besides, I've got some plans later this evening.
--Matt PS. Weather is calling for 50% chance scattered thunder storms from 4pm till about 10pm. Begining @ 11pm promptly fire and brimstone will rain from the heavens and reduce all mortals to smoldering cinders. |

Well, it is raining in Asheville right now, so I guess it is on it's way to you in Harlot. I hope you enjoy the mess. We still couldn't go pick up the Legacy this weekend as the current owner couldn't meet us halfway, so it looks like it is going to be another week.

Never did catch that Neon again...of course he never quite caught his own time again either so he was just freaking "on" during that run. My best unofficial was about 3/10ths behind that time and my best unofficial was 4/10ths behind. Still got a solid 2nd in DSP, though.
