I'd say 15k or less due all the dam miles.
Man I'm killin' it with mine then! 36.5k miles in 26 months with the 2011 WRX and now 21k with the BRZ in 8 months.

High miles on a used car like that scare me. It's beautiful, but the mileage would turn me away unfortunately.

When I price out used vehicles I use 12,000 miles, even though by book value you can take 14,000 annually
You deploy, though, so that's not really a fair assessment in my mind. I mean, your current STI is used, so there's that.

I've noticed a lot of guys in the Lower 48 just don't cruise that often or go very far (compared to guys I know up here that cruise several times each week or just every single weekend). They have spurts of fun with their rides. There's just so much more to do down there year-round besides cruise (for guys like me that aren't all about exploring the great outdoors) that they can keep busy without putting "cruising" on the top of their list. Most significant stores are nearby, too. Then there's the high cost of living where most of them have to work hard to maintain, so they really don't have excessive energy or time to put miles on their cars. They make money, maintain, and when there's some excess or a sacrifice can be made then they mod, but they don't stray very far for most endeavors.

That's just my over observation, though. There are tons of exceptions. It still boggles me about that silver bugeye wagon on Craigslist that only has 18k miles!

It's definitely very very low miles no doubt about it. Rare to find here in AK.

But man you're killing it with that 21k LOL

Found out why Don was selling his car. He's driving an Evo 10 now. I saw him heading onto JBER at Muldoon.

Saw it listed on craigslist for 21k from a dealership. Somebody should've picked it up for 16.5k when they had the chance lol

It's just an old statement still used.

Better would be cash up front/already pre-approved.

No bull****. No hassle. Person is ready to buy right then and there.

I understand that, but having cash or being pre approved doesn't make something worth less

No but it leaves the buyer in a more powerful position over the transaction. Time is money for everyone. When you're selling a hot ticket item, you become bombarded with phone calls, emails and requests for test drives. All these prospective buyers full of crap and really no intentions of buying unless for dirt cheap.

When you have someone pre-approved or with a check to buy on the spot, the seller will usually consider even a slight adjustment on their price. Why go thru additional weeks of idiots that just talk big, banging or breathing over your car? Wasting gas and time. It's money wasted for the seller.

A buyer always has the upper hand to push for at least a couple hundred bucks lower on a multi thousand purchase. Hence his statement cash in hand always drops the price.

As a seller you place yourself in a better position by pricing slightly higher than what you want. That way you have room for these expected negotiations. Though sometimes a price has to be firm because they're upside down on a loan vs value. Or because it's priced to sell fast as is and for the most part lower than typically valued.

If you're a buyer and you can't ever walk from a completed high ticket sale with a lower price or at least something extra to make it worth your wild. Well then you're a terrible buyer.

^True but some people still don't wanna bargain because they believe mods add value to their car, lol.

You always found out how non-valued those mods are when you tell the potential buyer you'll remove them and return the car to stock -- for the same price.

Thing that always bugged me is when people look to de-mod their vehicle, they're looking to spend as little as possible so they can make a larger return. The end result is a poor running car, bound to run into further issues, discovering the cut corners made to get it on the road.

I would rather buy a professional put together car than a ripped apart one. Or obviously one never touched to begin with.

The only time I see a car gaining over base value with mods is for a very extensive build. Even then the owner shouldn't expect more than 30-40% (at best) of what they paid on that build.
