![]() Hi, everyone this is Bryan from Racer X engineering and I proud to introduce a new kit to our line of quality products. This kit is a addition to our '05-'09 LGT and '08+WRX kits that we have been selling for over a year. You can read about our great customer service and products on legacygt, 3GWRX, and Nasioc. The '08 STi fitment kit is now complete.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are some front views of the FMIC on '08+WRXs ![]() ![]() Here is the final price for the coating $95 per intercooler $80 per set for powder for tubing $125 per set for ceramic for tubing That's $175 powercoat and $220 for ceramic coating. Like I said before plus $10 for my time and gas. Below is more info on the coatings Thermal Dispersement- This coating on a radiator or intercooler will lower the overall temperature by 18-20%. It works by eliminating the hot spots! All radiators and intercoolers have hot spots. This coating is a satin black in color and is a wet application that is baked in. Ceramic Satin Black thermal coating- This is an air cure flat/semi satin black color. This material handles heat up to 3000 degrees. By having such a high heat factor this makes for internal temperatures to stay much cooler by keeping the hot air out of a tube. This coating is widely used in the Harley motorcycle market for there exhaust to make the outside temperatures much lower and keep the heat in the pipes. Here are pictures of the coated kits. Here are the powder coated kit ![]() and this is the Ceramic coated kit ![]() With both kits you get the intercooler coated in thermo dispersant. -The kit will come with black couplers and stock BOV flange. -you keeps your stock crash beam -t-clamps -clears just about all intakes. Some have even got stock and Cobb airbox to fit with my kit. -you don't even have to trim your bumper skin so if you ever want to go back to stock and/or trade it in you car won't be hacked up like other kits. -I will also include flange that will let you run '05-'09LGT/'08+WRX style turbos. So you can run any turbo you want and no extra cost. - one year warranty against defects I'm also including the flange because I'm doing a test fit on a '05 WRX next weekend. With that flange it allows you 2L guys a cheap turbo upgrade to all of those LGT vf40 that are out there. Because some of those bigger turbo maybe too laggy for the 2 liter owners. I going to put the Vf40 on that test car and see what numbers it makes. ![]() I will be starting a group buy on 3GWRX, Nasioc, and Legacygt. I need a minimum of 10 orders to start production with a $350 deposit. If we don't reach that number I will give everyone a full refund. It will take about month and a half for the kits to be made and be ready for shipping. The regular price will be shipped $699. But for the Group buy the price will be $600 shipped to get this started. Let me know if you have any questions. Bryan Paypal [email protected] The GB will close on 3/18/11 1.JRSRED10

![]() Bryan,
Couple questions: Is this tube and fine or bar and plate, what are the dimensions, psi drop, what hp is this capable of, size of piping, and do you offer thermal dispersant coating in colors? |

2. IC overall 29"x9"x2.5" 3. With IC it's a bit of a trade off between pressure drop and efficiency. I give will you real numbers not percents that mean nothing. When I swapped FMICs(I had the XO2 FMIC that I designed for LGT) to the Racer X FMIC without a tune I had about 1/2 psi drop from my boost target of 20 psi. After a tune(or change your pill if you don't have a EBCS) I easily got my target back and was able to add 2 deg more timing with no knock which helps to make more torque. Most customers are reporting between 40 and 60 LBS-ft with a vf40 over aftermarket TMICs. You can read the post on legacygt.com 4. Our test car was a '08 legacyGT Spec. B and it made 400whp on e85 with a 68HTA, stock block and bolt-ons and he wasn't maxing the core yet. He is now making it into a show car and going for 450whp with a bigger turbo and injectors 5. The pipe size varies from 2" leaving the turbo to 2.50" on the cold side. 6. Coater says that he can do other colors. Any questions let me know. |

![]() sorry but that is the worst pipe routing i have seen on a fmic kit. surely there has to be a better way.
also where is the flange for the bypass valve? and did you have to remove the air pump? |

That is a picture of the final test fit before the flange was installed. It will come with a BOV flange. The owner of the STi had already removed his air pump before the test fit. Here is a picture of how it will fit with an air pump ![]() |

![]() Here are the pictures of the black powder kit installed on a '08 WRX. It gives that stealth look very clean and subtle. It will fit the same on LGT and STI's
![]() ![]() ![]() You can't even see the FMIC for that stealth look. ![]() |

![]() If we get closer to 10 yes. It kind of hard to justify a production for just 2 kits. If there is no interest it doesn't make sense. I may do a short run in march if the gb doesn't happen. I'll let you know when this gb is over.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Maybe people here are worried that I'm a new vendor here, about the quailty of the kit, how well it performs, and will I stand behind it. I can tell you yes. When I found out some people were having fitment issuse when using Sti style turbos I had a new pipe made and shipped it to everyone free of charge. Even to the ones that didn't have a problem. Just because it was the right thing to do. I started as out as a Subie owner( '04 WRX Wagon and now a 340whp DD '05 LGT wagon). I have been burn on aftermarket parts that don't work or fit like advertised. So I don't do that to my customers. That why I post pictures of kits install not just a bunch of pipes on a table. So you can see what you are gettting. I have a huge install thread (over 700 post and 22,000 veiws) http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...ll-131072.html to show you what it takes to install the FMIC and get input from other customers that I'm still active in and always there to help. I'm not the greatest salesman But, I feel I make a good product at a fair price. |

![]() Amen! I'm a believer that's why I'm eager to get it on my car. People like to copycat good results and it can be car specific. I think being on iwsti might help for sti peeps too. I will definitely post results here and there once my project is done. Let us know.

![]() I moved the GB back to 3/18/11 and brought the kit down to $600 shipped to get this GB going. Bryan

![]() Interesting...
How do you pull out the battery? Do you charge more for colored coatings? Can you match the factory STI intake manifold? What turbos have you tested fitment with? Is it compatible with something like a 20G, FP Green, FP Red, or Deadbolt turbos? Do you have any more pics installed on a 08+ STI? Front shot without a license plate? |
