Mr. Fookin is slightly infamous for a few things. First was the "Turbo group buy" from a while back. Ask Josh about that one.
He's also a promoter of the "JC Sports Torque Chip", an un-dynoed black box that everyone
swears makes the car pull harder. But he won't get dyno charts to prove that it does anything, but he SWEARS it removes the rev-speed limiter. Yeah. Whatever that's supposed to mean.
The Chalek gearsets aren't really infamous, but too many people have installed the older Chalek dog gears expecting them to handle a 3-puck racing clutch and the crazy low-end torque from a turboed RS. So You can't really fault the gearsets per se, but like anything else nobody complains about something that works right.
Never personally dealt with either myself, but in all honesty the newer gearsets look pretty interesting. Unfortunately, at 450hp, I'd be more worried about twising the casing before breaking a gear.
*shrug* Nothing personal to either of them, but I just thought it was kind of ironic.
