I might end up adding a factory style under seat amp eventually, but for now this head unit combined with sound deadening in each door has made a big enough difference.

I think there's enough info in this thread to make the harness myself, just haven't had any luck finding that 8 pin connector.

SVXdc sells them http://ae64.com/Rear-camera-8-pin.htm

I sent him an email and got a response back in about a week (busy guy, and had some stuff going on). Installed it all yesterday and it was plug and play.

car-part.com has a few... if you search for a 2013 forester (see amplifier/radio under the list)

LKQ seemed to be the most common so I tried their site directly and they showed 6 available for around $140. Be careful though since the description is sometimes different then the search result.

Just installed my CP635U1 in my 09 WRX. I will hopefully be able to get a backup camera harness and USB harness from AE64.

I got mine from LKQonline.com for $140 shipped. ('13 forester)

Currently running the CP435L1 with a Alpine KTP-44SU amp and just installed the Rydeen duo back up camera.

Question: would running a factory underseat sub sound decent since the HU isn't powering the door speakers?

I have a 2008 STI. Do you know if the 2011 Forester Radio will fit my card?

I would think so as for the speaker and power harnesses, but I don't think you have steering wheel controls or bluetooth so those, of course, would not work. But don't take my word for it, I'm only 100% positive it fits the 2011-2014 non-nav WRX's.

Is it possible to have your phones Bluetooth automatically sync with these?

My iPhone 5 did but since I upgraded to 6s I need to connect manually every time, very annoying. Anyone know a fix for this?

So I did some digging and found the answer. Just tried it on mine and worked. First you have to delete any phones from the radio and start over from scratch. Then:

Hit the phone pick-up button on your steering wheel. And then use the radio buttons or voice control to continue. SETUP / PHONE SETUP / PAIR PHONE / RECORD NAME. Say the owner's name (at least 2 syllables, so you may need to say the name twice or add a last or middle name). CONFIRM. Go into your phone's bluetooth menu, select CAR MULTIMEDIA, and enter the passkey

This worked!! Thanks so much for sharing!!

Does everyone else have the issue with not being able to connect their iPhone by Bluetooth and usb at the same time? Had this problem with the stock radio and the cp435l1

Wondering if the HU PF-3304B-A will be a direct plug and play in my 2012 Impreza base model. I have the regular radio. No Screen.

I have this HEAD UNIT.

Looking to pick this one up and install if it's compatible.

You guys think it's going to work, or not?

And what can I do about the MIC situation? Will I have to order one from SUbaru in order to be compatible?

So I'd like to do this (or the crosstrek version) with my 2010 WRX. Right now I just have the regular base radio, no OEM bluetooth, no steering controls, but with media hub.

What I'm trying to gain is bluetooth streaming ability. I could care less about BT for phone call functions (unless the radio has the mic built in?) or steering wheel controls, I just want to be able to stream audio from my phone to the radio for music and navigation purposes, and have the nicer display with info. will the radio alone give me that ability? or will i need additional hardware?

Bump. Anyone know about Bluetooth? Will the radio alone allow me to stream music

Default New OEM Radio Installed into MY11 WRX: Source MY11 Forester

Answering my own question. The answer is yes. BT streaming and navigation works fine. I just wish the phone auto-paired when you turned the car off and back on, you have to manually re-pair every time.

http://i.imgur.com/5Xlpp1i.jpg

Also, you don't have to limit yourself to the forester model radio. I got mine off eBay from a 2012 Impreza, but the Crosstrek version will work too. They are all the same. Mine might not be able to do a backup camera though, not sure. But I don't need that function.

Anyone know how to upload a new screensaver image? When I navigate to it in the menu it says no USB. But I don't see any USB ports on it anywhere. And when I plug my phone into the USB port in the armrest console (the "media hub") it only recognizes it as the "Media 1" input and not USB.

Seems I'm the only one in this thread anymore.

No USB seems to be because the USB port (brown plug) on the back of my CM631UD radio is unused. Even though I have a USB port in the center console, seems it's being fed into a separate "Media" input to the radio and not its actual USB port. My car does not have any factory wiring to go to this brown plug.

I've sent an inquiry to ae64 to see if he can make me up a cable.

Not the only one USB works fine in my car, so they must have made changes between 2010 and 2012.
