Default Ever wonder what your car would look like with STi wheels?

Well ive decided to put race tires back on my volk TE37's... which means it was time to find some street rims. Had some '04 gold STi's handy with tires (thanks jeff) and figured i'd give them a whirl. pretty heavy, but otherwise not bad. my first impression was "wow! my car looks so tall now!" i can actually fit my whole foot under the side skirt now! lol

anyway haven't decided if i really like them or not. what do you think?

I'd like to see a side shot as well. I wonder how those would look on my red LGT.

I've got STi wheels on mine, no fitment problems with 225/45R17 Falken Azenis. Staar, your rear suspension way low, what do you have on there? The front wheels look nice but the rears look silly due to the camber and lowness and difference from front suspension height.

Side Pic please…

Looks absolutely great!

The 05’ STI wheels won’t fit due to a different bolt pattern, but 04’ is the same as all other subies…

What spring setup in the rear?

I just put my 04 STI wheels on the 96 wagon.....it looks pretty damn good, well they look better than the car...lol. But needs a little lowering....looks like a monster truck at the moment. I'll get some pics to put up soon.

But in case anyone was wondering....they fit with no problem at all.

JIC coilovers, cusco sway & struts, whiteline anti-lift... that's all i can think of off the top of my head. camber is fine... i think it's just the angle. the setting it's at works well with my allignment. i'll see if i can find side photos... but i don't have side view with the bbs's. will the side view with volks work?

Nope. Need a side view with the BBS. The best way to evaluate the stance of the car vs. the look of the wheels on the car.

For anybody who wants to see STi wheels on a BD, I posted these pics a while ago when I test fit them on my car for fun:

Would you like one of my kidneys???? How about a testicle?

That looks so sexy its not even funny! I don't know why everyone thinks wheels those size make the car look too tall, since legacy's are super low to the ground, it brings them up to a height like most cars come stock.

well, both these cars are lowered you know, i dont think they would look nearly as good without the car being lowered. just my opinion. they look hot on a non sti lowered car.

thats it, i found the summer rims i want. and they are 100% genuine SOOBIE! (bbs, i know, but you get it)

anyone know a quick comparo for the stock GT wheels vs. the BBS? backspacing/WEIGHT/wheel dia? i'm wondering if putting wheels like that at the corners will screw up all characteristics of the handling due to the wieght/offset differences.

anyone have direct expirience?

and by the way, i'd get the silvers for my silvah car.

I don't know the details but NO, it will not upset te balance of your car. I've got them on my Legacy and they work great, I've put them on '05's and they look/work great...I've put them on WRX wagon's and they work/look great.

if you're talking about the sti wheels verses stock leg wheels... not sure. never drove the car with stock wheels. i had volk te 37's on there for both track and every day. now they're track only... but they're 15x7.5 and weigh only 8.5 pounds.

THERE IS A HUGE difference with acceloration and braking since i've put these on. obviously they're much larger and much heavier. i seem to bog quite a bit in first and second and then gain normal speed by 3rd gear. also... slowing takes longer. other than that, the tires that are on the rims are just the stock ones. they grip okay and the sidewall is SUPER soft compared to what i'm used to.

and sorry i don't have the side view photos! i worked 9.5 hours yesterday without a break... and then had to go to the airport. by the time i got home i was already half dead.

Hi tora,

the rear is a little lower than I want it to be, it settled a little more than the front over the last 2 years and I have not had time to readjust it. the rear does have a lot more negative camber than most people are running but Victoria and I spend as much time on the track and twisties as we do on the freeway so the tires wear evenly. The camber is set at -1.6 in the rear, and up front it is set at -.25 for daily driving but on the track I up that to anywhere between -2.00 and -2.75 deg depending on the track.

p.s. we will take some side shots tonight and post them after our local wednesday night meet
