Any body ever have check engine, and cruise control blink?

i had my check engine light come on 2day, with the cruise control blinking. Yes their is one mod and thats TBE, but didn't come on all day till now (2:00am) i unplugged the battery and i'll see how it is tomorrow. The car still runs fine, if you have any ideas please let me know. Electrical or Mechanical problem??? only 2000 miles on the car

What kind of car is it? If it's an 04 or 05 STI, Anytime the check engine light comes on, the cruise control light will flash, telling you that the the cruise control won't work.

I guess it's a safety built into the ECU... Since the car is Drive by wire, when the check engine light is on, the computer turns off the ability to use cruise control to avoid what could be potential problems. You're probably setting a P0420, or a Rear 02 Sensor low voltage... Unless you recently got gas and left the cap loose, then you could be setting an evaporative emissions leak code.
