Default 2008 wrx trans swap

So, i am looking into an STI trans for my '08 WRX. To anyone who has done this, what all is involved, and how much would you pay to do it?

i put a 2008 sti trans in my 2011 wrx and i did everything because i found a totaled 08 sti in a salvage yard

i did it the most expensive way and i kind wish i went another route but its done now.

so i think the cheapest way would to find a trans and matching rear from the same year, then use an automatic driveshaft, keep the factory hubs and brakes and finish it off with legacy spec b hybrid axles and the factory 6 speed full shifter assembly. you also need the 6 speed subframe and the 6 speed trans mount

I did the swap on my 08 WRX, bought a 2010 STI six speed trans and rear diff from Just Japs in FLA. You can use Wrx front axles in the front. I used STI drive shaft and bought rear axles from the Driveshaft Shop that are R180 on one end and 5 x 100 at the other. My car is street mod autocross car and it puts down 350 hp and 400 torque at the wheels. The only problem I have had is breaking front axles, due to the big grip of R-comp tires. This might not be a problem with a street car. I also use a manual controller for the center diff but an automatic controller would work better.
