This looks good! I'm waiting for the pilot sport 4s restock in this size but after seeing your pic I might get the all seasons.

Default 255/40/17 - ET42 -17x9

Hey guys, well after spending most of the week looking through this thread and dozens of others.

I was convinced 255/40/17 on a 17x9 ET42 would fit.

They will be fitted to a 2005 Impreza WRX. I currently use 235/40/17 ET42 17x8 on the car. The rear wheel would catch the inner arch lip under hard compression on track until I rolled it a little. (6/5k springs then)

I took some measurements from my car last night using the 215/45/17 ET55 OEM wheel. I have around 12-15mm gap to the strut and 38-40mm to the now agressively rolled wheel arch.

Moving to the 255 set up, it will sit 12.4mm closer to the strut and 38.4mm closer to the arch. So as good as a dead size. I doubt this will be ideal for heavy loaded track use... I have some 3mm spacers I could use and pull the arch even more, but I'd rather not use spacers on track at all.

I found this thread: https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2629019

I know he shows a ET45 on Tein Coilovers (I use BC Racing RM Series), but even ET42 seems to close seeing that. (Also don't know what camber he had)

I know I can reduce the amount of camber the camber bolt provides to help increase the distance between the strut and wheel and then use more of the top plate camber to get the desired camber I want. (plenty of movement left)

I'm beginning to think this wheel fitment isn't as simple as people make it out to be, and especially not on a track setting...

Spring Rate 10/8k
Lowered 25-30~mm
24mm ARBs front and rear
BC Racing RM Series Coilovers
Rolled Rear Arches

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Any pictures of clearance would be excellent!

Thanks!

I dont see why that would be all that hard to fit. even what you measured fits in the range you listed.

also, spacers arent some terrible nightmare or unsafe. I run spacers and ive tracked my car both with autocross and on a road course plenty of times. ive never had any issue, not sure why people think you will (15mm hubcentric slip on spacers w/ extended studs)

Loving yours, I'm on the same exact spec's.
What are you other wide-bois running tire psi-wise? 35 all around?

Jetski, altho nowadays it just pulls it outta the garage since it sits behind the subie, then the Acura takes over towing.

I did add a fairly comprehensive post yesterday with a dropbox link to multiple fitment photos, but it seems the post isn't going to get approved for some reason...

Host them here. https://img.nasioc.com/

Nobody can see embedded dropbox links on the forums
