Unhappy Any experience with Neo 5W-30? recommended transmission oil?

Hey guys, I have a 07 WRX and was wondering if anyone had any experience running Neo synthetic 5w-30? Anyone have UOA of this brand?

Also wanted to know what would be the best transmission and diff oil to run for my car? (I don't have any grinding, but would like a smoother shift if possible.)

Thanks in advance.......

BTW: I have searched.. and results are utterly confusing. Most of the FAQ's are from 5 years ago and I wanted more current opinions. (I may end up trying rotella 5w-40 next time)

At $11.55/quart, it better be darn good oil! I couldn't personally see myself spending that much on oil for a Subie when GC and Rotella T both perform excellently at half the cost. My $0.02

I used NEO in my car for a bit. I didn't like it, I was loosing more oil than I liked. Where it was going I don't know. I also used their tranny fluid and diff fluid. It took about 8,000 miles for me to notice that the synchros started grinding especially inbetween first and second gears. Mind you at the time of the fluid changes my car had about 30K on it.
I switched to Motul and have not any problems ever since. I have rebuilt the tranny and have not had any synchro problems.
I know NEO makes great stuff, but I don't think it is the best to use in our cars. Just my .02

Alright so pretty much everyone agrees Rotella... and motul 300 in the transmission and diff? Damn that motul is super expensive.

Attention new guy: The information in the FAQs is just as cogent today as it was on the date they were written. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel and follow the advice in the FAQs before you walk down an unknown path that leads to a grinding transmission, empty wallet, and you being unhappy.

So Unabomber... you advise against rotella? I have throughly read the FAQ's but they are 5 years old and I was hoping for updated information.

Your FAQ's do mention Neo engine oil and motul 300 gear oil however... which is why im leaning towards them.

Any more input?
