Default 04 wrx with lots of new mods needs tuned. Any suggestions?

04 WRX 2.0

Has:

K&N Hurricane intake

Bigger turbo inlet tube

Pink injectors

FMIC

Headers

uncatted up-pipe

3in down pipe with 2.5in non catted piping to a Super Trapp tunable exhaust

tumbler deleats

When I bring the RPM's up under load while test driving it acts like it has a rev limiter at 5500RPM or so. I have done enough trouble shooting to know that I don't have any mechanical problems and its all ECU now.

I do know that I need to it tuned but I am not sure where to start.
If anyone one can tell me that would be awesome. I don't feel like blowing my engine because I made a mistake with the numbers.
And maybe someone can tell me where I can find ROM that might mach the setup I have.

Thanks Guys

You can easily purchase a tune for the car. If you can't even figure out where to start you probably should not be tuning the car yourself, just FYI. I can tell you the injectors need to be rescaled, the MAF probably needs rescaled and the TGV deletes require the ECU DTC's to be turned off. Why you installed all that stuff without any forethought into what to do about engine management or any prior research on what your mods would entail is beyond me.

I know it was going to need to be tuned after I was done. I was going to take it to a shop in in town and have it dyno tuned but I am out of cash at the moment so I would like to do it myself. I knew that the fuel needed to be remap and also the MAF. But didn't know about the ECU DTC's. Thats the type of stuff I need to know about.

Really think you should just save up for a tune. Way to many ways for you to damage your motor trying to tune it yourself. Have you considered that you need a wideband and tactrix cable to opensource tune? Those two items will cost you at least $300, probably more. I have spent alot of time reading and researching tuning and still not ready to try to tune my own car yet. Even if you manage to get a safe tune in it, you won't be able to take full potential of the parts you just installed without a custom tune.

^ real talk.

ive got probably 2-3weeks of solid reading into opensource tuning and im ready to order my cable and WB o2.

im only going to scale my maf and do a bunch of logs. only to further study.

i only have an intake, turbo inlet, ic pipes, and catless up pipe.

even a cobb stage 2 probably wont help you. your too far past stage 2 already.

good luck, keep us posted after the tune!

If you get the Tactrix and can log, post up some logging data. You might be able to get a closer guess what you're doing to your engine. If your narrowband is any good you at least have an idea what your AFR is at closed loop +/-1 pt. You might also see when and why it transitions to open loop fueling. If you wanted to be really safe you could lower your boost until help arrives. I have very little experience but I think big boost+bad AFR= toasted engine... As was just said, let us know what you do. With more info, I'd be glad to try to help.

Well I called up the local shop today and talk to them about this. I made an appointment for Thursday to get it tuned. I said screw it I don't want to take the risk. They did say I could sit there and watch everything they do. So they are willing to teach me some stuff I, think that is vary cool of them. I do wish that I would have gotten the car in for dyno before to see what I was running with just the exhaust and intake but oh well. Now keep in mind I am running a stock turbo figured that can be one the last things I get,

Smart move! Watch and ask alot of questions. They are called pro tuners for a reason. Hope you get the results from the tune you're after.
