Quick question about new wrx
Okay so i am getting a 2012 wrx in the next month and the only thing im not okay with on the car is the stock wheels. I've looked and decided that i want miro 111's and i've done my research for the most part. The wheels are 5x100, 18x18.5, and are 35 offset. I wont be doing suspension mods or anything like that and was just wondering if these wheels will fit without any fender modification or anything like that. It's the only offset that wheel comes in but its also the only one that caught my eye. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

wow. 18x18.5? i'm not sure because i'm saving for an upgrage to a 2009 sti right on (from a 2008 wrx, stock wheels) but i believe with those specs, youd need a roll your fenders. just go to a wheel shop and tell them to roll it to fit.

It depends what tire specs you get too, and I'm 98% sure you won't have to do any fender work.

18.5" wide?! You are going to need MAJOR modifications to fit a 18.5" wide wheel....
Assuming you meant 18x8.5, you shouldn't need any fender modifications. |

Just ignore these fools. Dey bee trollin.
Assuming you meant 18x*8.5* +35 offset, you'll probably need to roll your rear fenders a bit. Next time, search the correct forum, and you wouldn't have to ask something that has been covered many times over... http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=88 http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2155863 |

Was your research based only on appearance? I'd recommend tire selection and replacement cost as well.
I used to go through a set of tires as often as I'd change oil, so it was important that the wheel were the optimum specs to the tire I liked to use the most. Going with 18's is going to cost more for sure to replace all your tires, unless you go with something crappy. Then again, having less sidewall might make up for having to buy a stiffer sidewall 17" tire. Pros and cons to every mod. |

Thanks guys, and yes i meant 18 x 8.5. And one more question that i couldnt find in the links you posted. Would 245/40/18 be the best bet for that size wheel? Thanks again guys.

With 18x8.5 and 245/40/18, your talking about the stock wheel/tire size for the STI. What are your goals for the wheel/tire set up you're looking at? If it's hellaflush you want, 18x8.5 won't be wide enough. If it's a step up in grip from stock 17x8 and 235/45/17 you're looking at, 18x8.5 and 245/40/18 is a good choice.
