are you worried about the ID of the wheel or the face of the calipers?

funny I got my winter set for 800 too locally
but they were WRX premium wheels, 18's
actually on the face they barely clear, way closer than the STI wheels, but they still clear

That's going to be really tough to figure out for certain. If it were me I'd probably go meet the guy with the money, bring a floor jack and a socket/bar, and just pull one tire right there in the parking lot and fit it up on the front wheel.
If you are prepared that could be done in under 5 minutes.
Then if it doesn't fit bail asap and be glad as hell you brought your tools and checked before you end up re-selling his wheels for him.

i think that is the best approach, given that there is nothing concrete that will say for certain whether or not they will fit.

Sure there is. Input your car on Tire Rack and look for a 17" winter wheel/tire package. TR carries Enkei, so if that wheel is available and fits, it'll come up on their list.

i did exactly that. and the +50 offset wasn't available on the filter tree. which, must mean that they do not fit.

The +50mm version DOES NOT fit.

It would require a small spacer to clear the front brake calipers.

Thank you! this saves me an unnecessary fitment trip.

I ask this because i bent the absolute sh** out of my front passenger wheel (Advan RG3s 19") and am looking for a replacement set asap as my AWD light will not stop flashing over 30mph.

I have found a replacement set and these would definitely fit...EC-7 18"
