Subaru Stars Subaru to Refresh All Its K-cars This Fall

An article from the Nikkei Shimbun in Japan reports that:

Quote:
Subaru will release improved versions of all its K-car models this fall. Though the K-car market is favorable to automobile manufacturers, Subaru's K-car sales are sluggish.

Subaru already revised and added additional grades to their "Pleo" "R1" and "R2" models earlier this year. However Subaru continues to search for increased product appeal.

Overall K-car sales in Japan were down 1.5% so far this in 2005, compared to the same period last year. But Subaru's K-car sales were down 9.3%, totaling 94,879 units sold.

The "Pleo" is selling well, but the "R1" and "R2" sales are sluggish since its release about 18 months ago. Thus Subaru has decided to release an all-new K-car in 2006 - much earlier than originally planned.

Until the new model release, Subaru will revise all four of their K-cars, including the "Sambar" (lightweight business purpose vehicle), ready for release this fall.
