Question What has happened to NASIOC and SE Forums?

I've not been here in a good while. Back in the day it was the place to be (all of NASIOC and even here in the SE forum).

Login now and...1 thread?

Has everyone deserted NASIOC for Reddit or other forums?

Just curious. I remember when this place was hoppin'

And yeah, old school here. Still running my '02 bugeye that I got from Prestige Subaru up in Asheville, NC

216K miles on it.

Sadly this place is on life support. There is still a little bit of activity in certain sub-forums, but the SE is a ghost town. It would appear as though Facebook has killed most forums.

Yeah I read a similar thread on the WRX subreddit. Bummer about FB. I'm rarely on it and it's terrible for finding good info...

Nice thing is search and back history of stuff is still pretty solid out here.

I agree with the previous comments about the rise of social media being the death of the forums but you can not take away that this place is a wealth of knowledge, even in the OT forum.

Still, there is some activity and questions still arise once in a while.

Wow was just trying to remember some of my old passwords for these and other Subaru sites and found this thread. Its crazy how social has been the death of forums. I really hope the owners keep them up as the knowledge contained on this site is irreplaceable.
It is awesome to see Leo, Opie, jaxscuby still around and posting all still right with the world.

I 'm thinking of getting a beater Forester, so I just logged in to check the SE Forum. Sad to see how quiet it is in here now.

Some of us "elders" are still alive and kicking. I hadn't logged in years, but was looking for something and wandered in here.

In other news, we recently picked up ANOTHER OB 3.6R, this one for one of my kids.

Stumbled my way back on here after a few years. Sold all my subarus and parts.
Was completely over spending **** tons of money trying to build a GD for track use.. Told myself I would never own another subaru lol but I catch myself browsing the classifieds..

Moved back to hondas. Currently own a 06 ap2 and 03 ap1 dedicated track car.
Life is much better without the EJ engines burning holes in my pocket haha.
