Default Just ordered my 32mm strano front sway bar for my 04 sti

Can't wait to get this thing! I ordered it from Arlyn and asked about the clearance issue I've read about on various strano threads. She said the bar has to be orientated correctly. They have 25 bars on order from Addico and I'm number 22. Bars ordered have already been painted and will ship next week. This should save wear on the outside edge of my new Bridgestone 235/40/18 S03's by keeping a flat contact patch during high g turns. Anyone have any updated reviews on this bar? I also asked about using teflon tape and was told to not use it as it will just ball up. She said just to heavily grease only the sway bar bushing mounts with synthetic bearing grease not the bushings on the endlinks.

I also asked about a rear sway bar and she said Sam Strano had talked about how the Sti can definitely benifit from a larger rear sway bar and had several inquiries so they may produce them by this summer!

People are starting to break the endlink mounting tabs on the control arms with this bar in autox competition with stock springs and struts and sticky tires so be aware. A street tired/driven car should be OK. Noted at the end of this thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...8#post13991008

I haven't tracked it yet, all street. A-arms broke on a wrx, sti arms may be stronger. I'm running Apexi n1 type v coilovers with pillow ball mounts and 18 x 7.5 Work Emotions Kai cr's on Bridgestone s03's.

I have 15 events on my 05 STi in stock class using the strano bar. No problems with the control arms yet. This is while using 275 v710's on the stock struts and springs on asphalt and concrete.

Arlyn called me back to let me know a customer with an 02-03 wrx broke an A-arm after 5 miles after installing the bars. He sent the car to the dealer and arm showed signs of stress and possibly broke to previous stress. She told me they want to be honest to thier customers and let us know up front. I asked if there will be any chance of revision to the bar and she said most likely not. She said Addico actually test it on a jig with A-arms replicating the vehicles suspension movement.

Now I'm debating whether I should cancel my order and go with the 27mm whitelines, the hotchkis setup or cusco's.

Just canceled the order. I'll probably go with the whitelines on ebay for $338 27mm front and 22mm rear.

Ordered the whitelines front 29-27mm and rear 24mm swaybars. Clint from Turn in Concepts recommended to upgrade the rear endlinks since they tend to flip with the stock endlinks, so I ordered the whiteline rear endlinks. I'll have a little more piece of mind not breaking the A-arms.

Did Arlyn happen to mention if the CA on the '02 that broke was a stock steel one, or was it maybe an STi part?

She said it was an aluminum A-arm.

If anyone's interested there's a guy on ebay selling the competition Hotchkis sway bars including endlinks. He has his contact number on his auction, so I called him and his reserve was $400. Also theres a member, Fer96, that sold his sti and has brand new cusco front and rear sway bars f/s he's located in Socal and only wants local pickup.
