Road atlanta has some events, its about an hour and a half down 85. With the SCCA you can sign up me a member and do some events, some are even free if you volunteer to work at events.

As mentioned, the closest are:

Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw (kind of near Columbia) and Road Atlanta in Braselton GA. You can find open track days through groups like SCCA, NASA, Porsche Club, Seat time, and other groups. Prices vary between the organizations.

If you want to get out there and go a little quicker than the normal autox, check out this:

http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...1461EEB98B4D32

I went last year and the focus, and it was a good time. Can't make it this year though

Hey guys, im pumped for the next cruise. A friend gave me an idea that would help for the next one. We should get some walkie talkies! This way if someone falls behind, some needs a bathroom break, etc.. we can easily let everyone know. We can get some reasonably priced at walmart. I think they come in pairs, so some people could split the price if they want. What's everyone think?

Like the idea but walkie talkies can be so flaky. What about voxer app? I'm assuming everyone would have some type of smartphone as the app is cross-platform.

We used to do the radios thing when we were in large groups in the north east. I have 4 or 5 decent two-way radios already. For sure next time I'm available for a cruise I will bring them along. The Voxer app could work as a back up plan aswell. We need to plan Tail of the Dragon run this fall.

Bump for this, I have some street tires I want to flip, and the guys at the local Firestone looked at me like I was crazy, when I asked if they could do it.

If you want another road for variety, http://www.tailofthedragonmaps.com/m...nshiner28.html this is a pretty good one. It could be shortened to not run the same thing since some of us are limited by E85

As for someone with a tire machine, I don't know of anyone personally that has one and a balancer, and I'm sure it's a liability issue as to why most shops wouldn't let you use their equipment.

Yeah totally understand the liability deal. Just back at home I had a shop that was good friends with and was able to use the equipment. Guess I was just hoping maybe someone on here has something like this up here. I don't mind paying but 20 bucks a tire or whatever they charge now a days is a bit rough.

I think its $60 and tech will be standard autox. They will probably only require a helmet.
