Default grinding noise hard to diagnose... help!

This is annoying. If i go around a hard left turn... feels like something is grinding/poping/etc... if i try to back up an incline with some speed... same noise... sometimes when i turn the wheel at low speeds it'll happen again... im thinking it may be ball joints? but the car only has 35K miles...

Any one have this problem before? any ideas?
