Default How to take care of light oxidation

I have an 07 SWP Sti and have noticed a lot of what looks like oxidation on the hood scoop and a little bit starting above the driver side door handle. I want to see if there is anything I can do short of repainting it. I know that the pics aren't the best, but it was hard to get good pics of it.

At 10 years old, there's certainly the possibility that your clear coat has run its course. Especially if it hasn't been taken care of. What is the history on the vehicle? Well kept and waxed, or never seen more than a drive through car wash?

Jumping to the next step, I'd try a cleaner wax from your local auto parts store. Meguiar's has a good one. If you're not up to it yourself, a local detailer could probably do a test spot for you and get a quick answer.

Thank you for response. Car has been washed/waxed twice a year under my care, but not sure about prior owner. Is there anyway to protect from further damage at this point?

Wash, clay, polish to remove oxidation (if that's indeed what it is), and a regular coat of wax/sealant. I don't know of a magic cover that will keep a car from aging, short of a garage.
