Did the Bosch Icons when they were on sale.
Have some generic ones on there right now.
Will probably switch to the piaas as they look to be the best atm.

Yep. My first set started to smear and streak after a few hours. Called Michelin, they sent me a new set... that was two months ago. They're already garbage.

Have a Nice Day?

I have to say that I'm shocked at all the Rain-X comments... I and several people that I know have had terrible luck with them. A) They are way too stiff for many windshields and the contact is poor due to this. #2) The adapters are very cheesy and HUGE...so not only do they look like crap, they either bind (creating further contact issues) or are really loose (creating noise) depending on who you talk to. BOSCH on the other hand are pretty much good from what I hear...they're just expensive. I switched to neoforms a couple of years ago from bosch and I'd say they're slightly better than the bosch at a lower price than both the rainx and bosch. I've have great luck with them.

I have the bosch icons and had to pull the blade out of the drivers side wiper and flip it over to get it to wipe without smearing. It looked like blade was stuck on its side so it would only wipe cleanly in one direction. I've had them a little over a year and a half now, we'll see how much longer they last. Anyone know if refills are available for the icons?

No, as they are one integral piece.

Really? I already pulled the wiper blade out and flipped it over so they do come out.

I stand corrected, I assumed they were molded as one part or something stupid like that:

This is for those who have the new style flat blade Bosch wipers retrofitted to their 850/x70's. My set is around 2 1/2 years old or so, and in need of replacing just due to normal NE wear. I have been procrastinating over the $40 for a new set, but I really like the wipers. The other day I saw a write-up on one of these boards about taking the old rubber out of the Icon holder. Unfortunately I can't now find where I saw that, so can't give appropriate thanks. However, I did pull mine last night and found that it took maybe 10 minutes to disassemble the old blades and insert new, cheap, inserts. The only trick is pulling the end cap off the Icon holder. You only need to remove the cap at the outer end, the end that points to the passenger side. It slips off, but has a small detent that is loosened by inserting a thin blade under the cap and prying - cap is pretty flexible, not fragile. Once the cap is off, there is a small metal hook that is easily seen, and just needs to be lifted up slightly so it does not push down into the rubber insert. Then the rubber insert just slides out. Once it is out, it looks exactly like any other traditional blade insert. I bought a pair of Trico inserts, N21R (narrow, 21 inches, refills) for $5.95 at AutoZone. AZ doesn't keep the refills out in front, but they did have some in the back parts department. The new refills come with a thin holder along the top edge. This holder has to be removed from the new inserts ( you can mess it up since it is thrown away). Then you are holding a perfect match to the rubber blade you pulled out of the Icon, and it just slides back into the Icon holder. Push the hook down flat (it preses into the rubber through a small hole, to hold it in position), snap the end cap back on and done. You need the narrow style inserts, not the wide ones, to fit the narrow opening in the holder.
Not correct size for our cars, but i guess you can do it. cool!

RainX Latitudes. Never had a single complaint with RainX wipers be it Latitudes or the standard blade.

I use Trico, I am very happy with them, and they tend to cost a little less than Bosch. They dont streak at all, and they handle icy conditions very well, too.

Valeo 900 series. Almost picked up some Icons while they were on sale at the Advance I work at but I got the Valeos on amazon for ~$23 for the pair.

Its interesting that what works for others did not work for me. Latitudes were way too stiff and faught with my arm pressure resulting in streaking and missed spots. Then tried icons and I'll say that they worked good. Then I switched from icons to trico neoforms and I think they're slightly better at a lower price. Very quiet and very smooth. No contact issues and a few bucks less than icons and latitudes.

i use regular blades since all the highend blades left this one streak, even when brand new. i searched about it and some people had this problem. I used to work at an autozone so i tried everything they had... at LEAST twice.
