I dunno my ICONs are horrible.

I clean my glass, clay it, even had it looked at by a detailer.
They just streak 24/7. Rain-X fluid included.

They were prob. okay for a month if that, then they just fell apart, they dont touch the corners of the glass or sit flat. The blade edge has become mared and uneven.

Meh.

I had the same problem with my ICONS, streak like hell after a month. And I seal all of my glass, I didn't really understand it. Needless to say they got trashed, I hate throwing away money but oh how I hate streaking wiper blades

I am currently using valeo frameless (like ICONS) blades, they have far outlasted my Bosch for almost half the price.

Wipers123 is a good place to lookup rear wiper blades. They have a lot of those newer special rear wipers. If they don't list it, it usually means you have to go to the dealer for it.

Also to the icons streaking comments... I have never had any problems with neoforms streaking and the icons I replaced didn't streak either though. Essentially no streaking with either but stuck with neoforms because they are smoother and quieter and cost less.

I got a rear blade at pep boys for 10 dollars. It's the pep boys brand blade
and is identical to the OEM blade.

Anyone know if the PIAA silicone refill will fit the OEM GR blade?

I just bought the PIAA Si-Tech wiper blades. I've used PIAA Super Silicone wiper blades in the past and was extremely pleased with them. The Si-Techs should be even better (for those of us with true four seasons) since they're all-season blades.

I prefer Bosch or Rain-X myself. Pricey but worth it IMO

I just got the PIAA SI-Techs for the wrx and Honda Odyssey from Amazon. I was not very impressed with the bosch icons.

The rain x ones are good though they seem to miss a little at the top

Ever notice there's not one post from someone who bought the PIAA silicones and didn't like them?

I went from the PIAA silicone 1st gen (metal frames), thought I'd try the Bosch Ikons because people were giving them good reviews. A fellow co-worker/enthusiast also recommended them. BIG, HUGE mistake. Back to PIAA with the flat blade silicone and loving them again.

the first set lasted probably around 6 years, maybe longer. Car was 9 years old when I sold it and I had just put the Ikons on a few months prior. The PIAAs were the first replacement to the factory wipers.

Bought a 2010 STi this past summer and by fall I had PIAAs on. They handled the snow and freezing temps like a champ. I'm sure at some point even the silicone becomes hard and inflexible but I haven't seen it yet.

Never tried PIAA but had some buddies question cost vs. quality. I tried rainx latitudes first but hated them. They were too stiff and missed a few spots where they didn't contact. Also the attachment was HUGE and cheesy... So, replaced them with icons and those were good blades but pricey. So, switched to trico neoforms a few years ago and have never went back. Super low profile, super smooth and quiet. I get some for my various cars once a year from wipers123 and get free shippping and coupons etc.

I recommend either Bosch Icons or Rain-x lattitudes.
I've used $7 hingeless wipers from Princess Auto, they work pretty well, but only last about 8 months or so

Which PIAA Silicone wipers do you guys recommend? Super Silicone, Forza, Sporza or the new Si Techs? I'm about to pull the trigger.

I've used both the super silicone and the si techs. The forza is just the super silicone with an air spoiler attached. The difference is mostly in the design. the Si Tech is a flat wiper, the super silicone was the original metal frame design. Both have worked well for me.

The forza is supposed to be some new fangled sleeker side-spring design. haven't used it so can't comment as to how well it performs or if it's worth the extra $$.

It looks like there's a new Silencio X-TRM design. it's also a flat low profile design but maybe only for euro's.

I've had the flat Si-Techs for a few months and they have been great so far. Only time will tell whether they will last the 6+ years that the metal framed Super Silicones lasted. I don't think you can go wrong no matter what design you go with.

WOW 6+ years! Yeah I saw the Silencio on the PIAA site too but haven't been able to find much info elsewhere. It seems like the PIAAs are not really carried at any local auto parts store, except maybe Auto Barns but the one by me closed down.

I did decide on the Si Techs before but didn't get a chance to order before I left work. Thanks for your input, I'll make the order tomorrow.

Get silblades. They are less expensive and a bit better IMO. I have SI-Tech on my 06 legacy and the drivers side streaks every pass right through my line of vision. Silblades on my wife's 98 Outback and no issues.

I really hate silicone wiper blades - I recently tried some out of boredom. Just threw out a pair and put my neoforms back on. Sorry to sound like a broken record but neoforms plus trico view glass treatment is a sweet combo. And, the treatment really does last 6 months...

I ended up getting the Bosch Icons because it was $28 out the door that way with a coupon code. I can report that they work great! I was worried about streaking but they fit the windshield perfectly and are very smooth. I use rain-x on my windshield (apply 2x a year) so I decided that I didn't need to spend the extra $ for the PIAAs that apply the silicone. I had a set of the icons on my volvo and they worked nicely for 2.5 years before they started to streak so hopefully I will get that much out of this set on the WRX.

At Advance Auto if you purchase online and pick-up in the store you can get $15 off a $40 purchase..the code is BIGONEFIVE
